So last night I created a game called 2v2, it was my first time online and i was a bit nervous. one guy joined, and not wanting to wait, we both started playing.
it was a good start. both of us playing TEC. i got several asteroids and a desert planet colinized while my scouts found his home planet and other colinies.
then came the Pirates. Both of us started sinking money into them right before they launched, with me selling off metal to afford paying them. in the end i had 200 more bounty on my head. I was fine with that though, as i knew i could handle them from my desert planet(which i named dune).
at this point i was feeling a bit technologically superior, as i had Percheon and LRM's researched as well as some weopon and armor upgrades, and a level Five Kol, maybe 20 kobalts, and about ten LRM's. He had the advantage of numbers though, with a level 4 kol and a level 2 dunov.
during the pirate attack, he snuck around my flank straight to my home planet with his two caps and 22 cobalts. at the time i only had a few cobalts, 2 percheons defending my home planet. i frantically began building Gauss turrets and repair bays while my main fleet rushed back to defend. they arrived soon after into the melee, my gauss turrets firing randomly, and me trying to build some more frigates.
I immediatly ordered my Kol to Gauss his Kol, and then focused fired all my Kobalts, My Kol and My Gauss turrets on his Kol, while My LRM's fired at his Dunov(at this point a fair number of his cobalts had beed destroyed)
but then here comes my biggest mistake of the game. somehow, i must have accidently opened the ause screen. i stared at it in a moment of confusion...and then moved my mouse to quit. the battle resumed... and then it says he was victourious!
I mourn the loss of my first game to my own stupidity
and to the person i was playing against, i am sorry for the game you lost as well
