You are just starting out in a new game and to take a neighbouring planet you must first defeat the fleet that is there, how do you replace or add defenders to the planet?
You can't. You can build your own ships and leave them there. You can build defensive structures. But once they are gone, they are gone. You own it and must invest in whatever you feel is required to defend it. That said, generally it is NOT worth leaving ships behind as you will be better having them with your main fleet since it will advance your boundaries....
You miss understand, I want to add ships or replace the ones you defeat to take the planet in the first place.
I am building my own mod and want to add more ships that defend the planet that you want to capture for your empire.
Well, you need to EXPLAIN things like this better.
All the planets except the homeworlds have ships that you must defeat to capture the planet.
Is there no way to modify the number of ships or the ship classes defending the planet?
You can modify them in the .galaxy file or in Galaxy Forge. In the Forge, if you double click the planet and uncheck "Use default planetary template" you can select any number of premade fleets to be at the planet. If you just do it from the .galaxy file, you can add individual IDs to the"planetItems" column. Then change "useDefaultTemplate" to False. I believe that's how you can do it from the actual file and I know I'm sure about the Galaxy Forge way because I've done it!
hm isnt it godo as it is right now?
Thank you.
Just as a note, If you make colonizable planets have pirate fleets, the planet will be owned by the pirates. I think this is hard-coded, but just figured you might want to know.
Thanks
