Perfection, Defined! (but fix carriers)

Every time I play this game, I find something else I like about it. This is such a rarity with modern games. The attention to detail is unrivaled. Very, very well done. Anyone who likes Empires at War will LOVE this. The graphics are far more detailed and "real," and the AI is actually worthy. The replay value on this game is high, and I can not say the same for Empires at War. I personally liked this 20 x better than Galactic Civ II.

Though I have no interest in playing it online because a complex game offline transforms into a simpleton's game online; Build carriers FTW...That sounds B O R I N G. Get rid of light carriers, and overhaul the Capital carriers. Take RL military as cue; There are no "light" carriers, and a carrier is quite expensive and slower and less maneuverable than other warships. Fix the carrier problem and my rating of this game goes from 9/10 to 10/10.

Thanks for making such an incredible game!!! I can easily see why it won Strategy Game of the Year.

I agree, but there ARE counters, not only in this great game but even in crappy ones such as RA3

If someone is just spamming carriers, you can spam defence ships... And they build faster + are cheaper than carriers, so he'll have no chance.

The reason there aren't light carriers today, is becuase nothing smaller then a navy such as the USN or the Royal Navy has the resources to build both the fighters and the ships to carry them, train ground crews, and getr replacements for them. The RN and the USN don't need dipshit little carriers that don't carry as much as a full up Carrier that can project much more firepower, which is the basic reason for carriers. And think of those light carriers in the game as USS Yorktown, or Hornet, while the Sovas and other cap carriers are the Nimitz class of space warfare.

If you remove light carriers then you won't have carriers except for capitals (which you say need overhauling). And since the game is really based around frigs instead of caps, it means you won't have many carriers in the game. Basically, you are saying you want the carrier unit removed from the game. Why do you hate carriers? Do we really need one less unit type?

Also, what overhaul needs to be made to the capital carrier?
