OK mswaim, fair enough about my nickname... In my defence, I went through the nickname page about, oooh, 17 times before finally losing my rag and swearing at it. Obviously this was a mistake, as it immediately accepted this (unused) nickname and I'm now stuck with it. Nakor, please feel free to adjust my nickname permanently. Please explain to me how the AI players seem to have researched and built all of the basics within the first year of the game, while I'm still trying to colonise my fourth or fifth star system? Just above me on the map is a huge paint splatter of light blue where the Altarians have colonised a dozen or so planets, with a population growth only ever previously seen in the insect world? I'm sorry, but I don't believe for one nano-second that the AI players start on the same foo
