Frogboy, any chance that you might create a forum just for those of us involved in beta testing new releases before they are released to the general public. This would serve to functions: 1, it would allow the beta-tester to post intelligently about whats going on w/o every one else seeing the post and asking why they too don't have that version :notsure: . 2, it would make it easier during beta testing to see if others are having similar results w/o having to dig through all the forum posts

Frogboy or any other devs, if you are reading this, I personally would love a more detailed explaination of the way surrender is supposed to work. Not only would it be nice to know ;) but it would also allow us to figure out if there's a bug in the way surrender is handled. Not that I am complaining...I refuse to complain until I have more information! ;p

In one of my last games on v1.04, I watched as all the AI players, one by one, surrendered to the same AI race, eventually giving the Torian's 90% of the galaxy. I did manage to win that game (and I'll submit it once my particular Metaverse woes get fixed), but it was not an enjoyable experience. IMHO, it is great that the AI is willing to surrender, but it would be nice if it would surrender to *me* sometimes. I would think the AI would surrender either to the game leader (this shortening th

T-Man, Thanks for your continued help on the Metaverse submission issues. I will await a post here describing how to convert a Galciv serial number to a Drengin.net serial. In the mean time, I'll just keep collecting all my saved games and submit them when the switch has been made. :)

Hello all! I too have not been able to get games to upload to the Metaverse. I uploaded all of one game after the first week or so of buying the game, and since then not a single other one of my games has posted. Any help or ideas certainly would be appreciated. I am currently running the latest version available from Stardock Central, and have had no other problems to date.

Hear, hear! I want to post my positive feedback as well. Ever since I bought the game, I have been amazed at the level of work Frogboy and the whole team have put in on this game. I find myself checking in everyday to see what has changed and what's in the works. This is truly unparalleled in any game I have ever bought, even among those with pretty good support (Blizzard comes to mind, along with others). Keep up the good work, and don't let a few people take the fun out of what you are doi

In my estimation, the game is definitely better. No one has even mentioned the "locking" mechanism on the slider screens, whereby making it *much* easier to adjust those numbers as you see fit. The AI is certainly stronger (I also play consistently on Bright), but I think appropriately so. Trade goods have a greater effect, and it takes the AI much later in the game to complete them (and the player too, unless of course he/she is leasing them). Their trade value is a little lower at Bright d

Only one thing I can think of to add: It is apparent to me that Brad and team have indeed been wonderful at responding to issues we as the players bring up. Think about the PQ+% ability...got nerfed, then got rebalanced, and rebalanced again...now I think most people feel like that ability is balanced. Same thing with the Battle Hammer ship...got nerfed, rebalanced, and rebalanced again. If the community feels like Trade Goods have been unbalanced by the latest changes, then just say so witho

After my first game on 1.04 (all AI set to Bright), trade goods continued to be valued by the AI at approximately the same as 1.03...maybe a bit lower, but not nearly as substantially as described here. Of course, as usual, with the new release the AI becomes trickier and more intelligent, leading to a losing game even with a fair start...oh well. :notsure: So, it would appear to me anyway that the "trade good nerf" is more pronounced as one goes up in difficulty.

For me, whenever Stardock wanted to d/l the whole 86MB again, I find selecting "Refresh Application Data" from the Stardock Central Tools menu to fix the problem. IMHO, it's not a problem with GalCiv, but with Stardock itself. That command reloads all the system files for Stardock, and that's always worked for me. Good luck! :D

I did not experience any problems with the "buying items" feature. It confused me the first time, but that was only because I thought I accidentally cx'd it after buying it. But, for me at least, it *did* show up on the next months GNN report, so I knew all was okay. I also found the AI to be much more difficult to play against...so much so that at first I thought the release was broken somehow... ;) I did encounter one repeatable CTD to desktop that always happened after

Okay...after analyzing and playing a few more starts, it appears that things are working fine. But, it appears that the *slight* difficulty increase is a bit more than slightly pronounced on higher dificulty levels. Prior to 1.04, had no problems with Bright AI or lower...now, with Bright AI, I am in last place...a very solid last place, but last place all the same...and that's with a good starting position. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has noticed this difficulty increase.

Anyone experienced anything broken with the new beta? I just played my first game with it, and very early on in the game the Arceans somehow had a *major* cultural advantage...so much so that the first two or three colonies I created never became blue in influence, but immediately went to yellow for the Arceans. A look at their planets reveals nothing unusual...in some cases my planets have either the same or higher influence, but nonetheless the sector is yellow...and so strong that planets ar

After upgrading to a membership on drengin.net, I can no longer post any scores to the Metaverse. I have tried reregistering my name and I have tried registering my drengin.net subscription number with a different user name, all to no avail. :( Any ideas or word on when this will be fixed? Personally, I think the whole submission process should be revamped. It's annoying to have to save my game, get online, and then submit. Maybe have a way to queue wins and then update next time yo

I too have noticed that the Drengins consistently win during many of my games. However, upon reflection I think this is b/c I tend to play on low planet quality settings. With so few choice planets to go around, most of the other civs simply can't live up to their potential. But, since the Drengins run around conquering everyone, they eventually get their full range of planets, and end up dominating pretty fast. :notsure: BTW - This is the exact reason why the 10% and 15% PQ ability
