About constructor and the range ring, one thing that would really help is highlighting the resources, planets, etc. that would fall into their influence radius prior to building a star base. Small quality of life thing that would make a world of difference.

From what was said in the Discord, it was intentional. They're trying it out. Brad gave a solution to revert the behaviour. Just go in \Epic Games\GCIVTestEdition\Data\Core folder and open GraphicsDefs.xml. Then swap the numbers of these two lines so they look like this: 4500 3500</StrategicIconDistanceThresholdHigh&

This may be a bit too late in the life of this title for this, but for the sequel it would be nice to have some kind of headphone mode. Let me explain. As of now, the screen seems to be split in two: sounds either come out of the left ear/channel if the source is on the left side of the screen or the right ear/channel if its on the right side of the screen. Boolean style. There is a clear lack of "surround" to the various sounds and it just feels very unnatural. Headphone mode could blend the
If we had research paths like astrophysics or Metallurgy or Materials Sciences, Computer Technology, Nanophysics etc etc etc I'd enjoy the immersion.
I think Space Empire (IV at least) had something like that where you splitted a percentage of your research pool in different research fields. I really liked it and it was a lot of fun discovering what kind of new technology you could get for your ships or planet

This conversation may not be pleasant to have but it is needed. Epic exclusives are a multi facet topic, often emotional, that can certainly use some rational dialogue. The history of how things unfolded in the past is very valuable and does corresponds to what any honest observer present at the time would corroborate. I remember vividly how much better Impulse was to Steam back in the days. To this day I wish you all hadn’t sold it! In a way, we cou
It is very likely that GalCiv IV will be exclusively on Epic for a period of time post-release.
What about GamePass PC ? Have you had a chance to look into what Microsoft could offer you to have it on their platform first ?

Another idea would be to give the option to play with or without pauses and use a challenges toggle at the start of missions. You could then earn achievements to complete challenges, to the delight of those who likes to run after them. I'm sure a whole host of challenges could be imagined. I'm personnaly not that interested in completing every possible achievements, but I'm sure some would appreciate it. Also, the way it is now, it is similar to what we already have in Ashes, in the s

I was able to reclaim my key earlier today from the email Stardock sent out, downloaded the game and tried it a little (it's quite good already), but now I keep getting emails from Steam saying: " This is an automated message generated by Steam account administration. It is being sent in response to a query made by a Steam user to discover all account names associated with this CD key. etc."
It's a passworded opt-in. Instructions on how to opt-in are at the top. Next version of this won't be passworded.
Ohh you're right. Thank you! I wrongly assumed that the bullets points were the usual generic instructions. Didn't read them.

It's the sum of all those small changes and quality of life improvements that makes all the difference and is steadily making a good game into an excellent one. Thank you for your sustain quality work. Played a quick skirmish yesterday as PHC and I really appreciated the bug fix to the juggernauts health. They felt a lot more sturdy and durable.

I agree with the above posters about the quality of the sounds in game. Using headphones, when moving the camera around, sounds move from one ear to the other in a very unnatural way. I would expect a "Head-Related transfer function" (see wiki) as implemented in some games (i.e. "True 3D sound" mod for Skyrim SE). The position of the camera looking down on the battlefield could be use as the position of the player head. This would give positional awareness of where units are on the battlefiel
