thomassen: Which OS? On Vista all blurs are probably identical. Vista. I had a look again and the taskbars looks pretty much the same. The window frames appears a lot more solid though. I can barely see through the titlebars which is semi transparent on the Black skin. But it might be just the skin. It was just that without blurring behind the window frames you can quite clearly see through them.

Ultramon screws up WindowBlinds, it even says that when installing. Forget the software, here's how you do it. Save an image that has the dimensions of both monitors(I have one 1680x1050 and one 1280x1024, so I use 2960x1050). Set image as wallpaper, go to properties and select TILE. For two different pictures, combine them into one image. Ultramon 3 beta works perfect with WB6. I even get blur behind translucent taskbars. It actualy applies a nicer blur
The ultimate solution: use'em all! I currently run Vista, XP, OSX and Ubuntu. Doesn't matter what's best. I'm using it anyway. ...and then there was peace on earth!
That's the documentation, I'd say get that if plan to do scripting in DesktopX you won't regret it. Yes, the manuals are your friend.

Have you tried reinstalling Windows Script? It often seem to fix DX crashes. I was meaning to give you the link to the download, but MSs site is all messed up atm and just gives out lots of 404 messages.
Make sure you have a late model fast machine with lots of Ram and a good vid card. My four year old Dell gets a 4.2 rating with Vista...
I'm copying larger amount of data now from my main comp to my secondary comp, both running vista with these patches. seem to work pretty good so far.
Installed! I'm gonna try to copy 30-40 GB later on once my backupi machine is set up.
Tahoma should be used instead of MS Sans Serif and Microsoft Sans Serif throughout the UI. Come on, one of those doesnt even use ClearType. For Vista systems is "Segoe UI" according to the new UI guidelines.
Nice! Some first thoughts: The "Theme parts detail" section with explanation of the various elements is very nice. With the old SKS I was sometimes confused over some of the elements, even though I'm used to programming VB and C# apps. The skin colour section where you set the system colours would be nice if it was supported with a little preview of a window and some controls in just the classic mode.
installing... three updates on one day? it's like ... like ... a kinderegg!!
Put simply,XP is so much easier to navigate and looks better with WB. I find Vista easier to navigate. And looks just as good with WB. Yeah Snow...that tree navigation in the Start menu is so much better than flyout menus...NOT! With Vista I rarely have to look at the list of the programs. I open the start menu and type two or three letters of the app I'm looking for and it instantly pops up. I manage to launch ap

Happy birthday Hawkeye. I'm currently freelance webdesigner. Studied modelmaking, but seem to divert from that career path...
gaah.... I thought I'd seen it. tried it find it in my bookmark archive, but no result. I found some Visual Styles what was close, but not it though...
I think the target audience for this post isn't likely to read it...
I'm curious as well about the OSX version. I've recently acquired a Mac Mini to allow testing of my websites on the Mac system. It'd be nice to get rid of the extra set of mouse and keyboard on my desk. And update on plans for OSX and Linux version would be nice.
And DesktopX allows you to add glow to objects via the Object's properties. That means it can be tweaked dynamicly, even via scripting.
Yea, it'd be nice to have a feed of the recent forum activity.
thomassen awaits a new range of sporty office chairs to hit the market. Formula Office anyone?
Found some LCARS style skins: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=1&search=lcars And a couple of hits on "star trek": https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=1&search=star%20trek You might find other by typing in other star trek terms into the searchbar. I'm not that good at startrek to know what to try.
What kind? One in the style of the LCARS system? or just Trekkie style? I think there's some LCARS looking themes around. though I'm not sure how up to date they are.
hehe I imagined the whole post being read up by the professor in Futurama. "Good news everyone!" aaaanyway... yes, this is great news. looking forward to the update.
One little thing I am noticing with the Blur feature (*which is very slick on XP) It will blur everything that is behind the Title bar - EXCEPT for Other Title Bars - so if I have 2 windows opened, one on top of the other - you can see both Titles clearly - :>? I see the same thing on XP as well. Also, it doesn't blur ObjectDock and Gadgets. Seem to be that layered windows isn't included into the composition. Hopefully this isn't a limitati
