Hi all! The game starts to take form and looks amazing so far. While I don’t like the AI artworks personally, I do agree that graphics fidelity increased by a lot. As one of those “regular” online players that you mentioned, I am mostly concerned about how the multiplayer experience will look like. Especially in our beloved 5s format. Could you dedicate a video on that maybe? Maybe Zabik would be able to help you out with this? I do like all

I hope for a strategic map (maybe a research?) to see the constellation of the map later on. There are some caveats to this map system, if not implemented carefully: Planets far away should stay more or less static but not only have 1 entry point into the "home system" with maybe roids and dwarfs orbiting larger objects. Sometimes a really random map, where you are connected 2 jumps away from the enemy (talking about massive 5 v 5 games), adds to challenge and require

I also preferred the system with the separated research trees and I am not sure about the tier system tbh. If one needs to research the tech tier for each military and civilian separately, why not implement two different research labs instead to begin with? It is better for scouting. While I like that the team wants to focus on the lore and removed lasers for the TEC, I liked the weapon diversity and the tactical/strategic diversity that came with it (as stated by someone in this thread befor

Thanks for the update! Looks great! Miss the antennas though! Planetary Bombardment Cannon: A feature new to all of the TEC latest retrofits is the planetary bombardment cannon. Didn't all cap ships have planetary bombardment cannons? Or is this now limited to

thanks for the update yarlen! i am happy that the changes are at least grounded in lore... despite favoring the old design, i am ok with this i guess :D so will we encounter the original KOL when fighting the pirates? or was that just some lore info piece? regarding hangar/strike craft removal: i noticed the akkan also lost its hangar bay... is it therefore correct to assume that most caps will no longer have strike craft? it always felt like having one strike
It's honestly baffling to me that someone can find things to complain about a game that they haven't played, haven't seen anyone play, and have a paltry few pictures to look at. I understand wanting feedback to be heard, but if you want to have feedback be heard, at least have valid feedback. Most people won't care about the design change, and if Sins 2 is successful, the majority of players won't have even played the first. Don't tote you
I do think you should wait for some playable version of the game to be released before doing any judgements. From what has been shared so far, its near impossible to predict whether the game will be just Rebellion on newer engine with moving turrets and planets, or some deeper gameplay changes and additions are going to be done. I certainly hope for the latter (though it does have limits, i dont want the game fundamentally change i
One thing not mentioned so far is weapon and armor types. It is not readily apparent of the effectiveness of a certain weapon type against a certain armor types. I know there is a chart online were you can look this up, but that is not reasonable or good game design. I feel that the armor and weapon types need to be simplified or have tool tips to shows their effectiveness.
simplified… when i read th

Hello everyone, I am posting a lot, sorry about that but I can‘t help but being excited even one month after announcement. Today I would like to talk about the „randomness“ of SOASE: One of my favorite aspects of this game was its „unrivalled“ scale and the random elements surely contributed to that. What exactly do I mean by that? For instance the discovery of planetary artefacts, buffs and debuffs, the random maps and the resu
I don't know which way this game is intended to go, but in my opinion, if it's going to be a sequel story then I think the technology in the game should be evolutionary. For example, in the original game, the TEC ships looked like utilitarian ships that were converted to military use. In this game, the TEC ships should seem more designed directly for military use and should be less clunky and a bit more polished (still a little

ashes was decent but it always felt like a benchmark software to me rather than a great rts. i really tried to love it and played it for quite a bit... it was well balanced and thought trough but something was lacking. for instance, the units were so generic that i basically could not really tell the factions apart and they played very similarly too which made it quite uninteresting at times. i believe the time and resources spent on the campaign (which was really the definition of generic to

literally dont get the point trying to be made here... sins has one of the easiest, efficient and logical lobby systems ever. not even trolling, i dont get it, join lobby, look for your friends hosted game and join ? what party? same team for what reason? what if you want to play against friends? what is even going on in this thread?

i mean sins had no minimap previously, but maybe there could be one implemented? or, similar to supcom (which is absolutely awsome until this day that they did this way back in the days) use the second screen as a strategic info window of some sort (battle reports, ship construction etc. like currently in the down left corner)?

That would actually be top notch! But also quite a lot of work for the team I suppose? This would be obviously the coolest and most authentic solution. As small ships don't level up (at least in the prequel) that might come with like... hull upgrades and stuff I suppose? Would be cool if the devs could give a little feedback so we do not stumble in the dark completely in regards to this!

Hey Devs, I cant help but notice that you guys seem to be active, reading and replying a lot. Mostly to the whole Epic-controversy thing though while my questions (and the ones of many others) have been often unanswered... For example: What happened to the tech tree? Why is there now only one type of research structure now instead of two? Why did you discarded your iconic design for something far less mature? What other major changes will there be in regar

It is not that I particularly liked building research stations, but it gave the game another dimension of strategy. For example, if you open with military tech, you will fall back quickly when it comes to economy so you need to put pressure on your enemy early on. If you went civic, you were vulnerable for attack but you could colonize valuable planets earlier than your enemy. Basically, if the enemy left this unpunished, you had an early game advantage. I am now afraid that the whole

I noticed that in the FAQ it was mentioned that the division of Civic and Military research has been removed and replaced by a single structure instead. Is there any reason for this? To me this added a layer of complexity because sometimes going for civic research instead of military one early game was an active choice of strategy. Enemies could scout how many structures you have and determine what tech the might have researched or not. If there is any good reason for this decision, please te
