Do yourself a favour and install the SVN mod to upgrade the dx9 effectgs before playing te campaign. edit the config file to 1680x1050 and above and play with the grapics settings. its worth it. And the game really does look 20 times better than sins still.
Just installed this game but I wanted to do this before I get too involved. Unfortunately I've never used any mods and don't know how to do any of what you suggest. Help? Also kudos on

I gotta resurrect this thread cause I'm tired of my default avatar. Keep getting this prompt when I try to upload my pic. "The Upload Object has not loaded properly. Your browser may be preventing it from loading. (Macromedia Flash v9.0.28 or greater is required.)" Please break this down for me. I'm pretty new to computers so simple is best.
For me (SP mind you) I've generally got a decent sized fleet by the time my opponent has started building minefields and possibly a starbase; so I'll jump my fleet in out of range of said starbase with autoattack switched off and at least four scouts. Have your ogrovs/starfish attack the starbase from a distance moving your fleet out of harms way continually if matched up against vasari, micromanage your fleet to eliminate any active threats and then start working on the
I've got the original World in Conflict and I think I mentioned it earlier. I didn't pick up the expansion cause I thought I read somewhere that it was all the original missions just reversed so you were playing the Soviet side. Plus I live in the Pacific NW and it's a little disconcerting assaulting somewhere that you lived. But agreed the game does look phenomenal. Also, I don't have a link but somewhere on gamespot I saw some screenshots of a game called Order of

Anybody remember Colecovision? My cousin had one of those. I had an Atari. Can't remember what my first game was; probably missile command but I can barely remember. Got my own computer about a year ago and I think my first game was SupCom or SOSE. Either way, great first pc game but talk about getting in late in the game huh? I remember staying at a friends house playing the original Doom into the wee hours.
Be careful with Empire total war, I still haven't gotten it to work well on my PC, worst $50 I ever spent (and I absolutely loved Rome total war too). I wish I had spent all of the hours of fustration playing Sins of a Solar Empire even more...
I'm hoping I don't have any problems. I've got a higher end rig I'm told, but I couldn't tell you anything about it. Honestly I'm pretty computer illiterate. I did like LOTR Battle for Middle Earth II bu
Thanks again for all the help guys. Ordered Empire Total War, Homeworld 2, and Universe at War this morning; though I fully intend to check out many of the others. Gotta start somewhere right?
I liked Supreme Commander, but personally I found you spent way too much of your time juggling build orders and micromanaging workers. As far as command and conquer goes... the series ended at RA2 and I refuse to recognize the trash they've been churning out since.
Why are we trying to pin a couple of extreme acts or racism on what kind of genre of music a person listens to. Imo this is counter productive and missing the point of the OP. I listen to all types of music and don't feel like any of it can be held responsible for any of my actions. Ultimately we need to move away from trying to lay the blame on anything other than the individual.
Sorry, u do sound like a racist to me... Where are u from exactly??? I'm gu
Those pics of Homeworld 2 look great. Reminds me of Sins so I guess I'll have to give it a try. Demigod looks great but the lack of single player content dissapoints me and the elitism of the online community keeps me from playing multiplayer.
Company of Heroes is basically regarded as the best RTS to date by the worlds gaming press, even if you don't personally agree.
I have this game and really did enjoy it. The "best" is stretching it but
Look out for Supreme Commander 2 as well
Definitely one I'm looking forward to. That, Starcraft 2, and C&C 4 are all on the horizon but still too far off.
Get Empire :Total war and just play skirmish games...seriously, and multiplayer. Good times.
I heard this was really buggy but I assume it's been patched sufficiently? And again any info is much appreciated. I'm hurtin' for something new and most of my f
If you're a Star Wars fan I'd recommend Empire at War. Land combat is okay, but space battles are a lot of fun. A classic to try would be Homeworld 1 and 2. Also by Relic: Company of Heroes.
Haven't tried the Homeworld series. Talked to a few people who said it was pretty hard cause the units carry over to the next level or something like that. I've kinda been on the fence about getting it but it's worth it, huh? I've got the other two thoug
I'm having a hard time getting my fix until some new rts titles come out and am hoping someone out there has some ideas. First, I need it to have somewhat up to date graphics. Second, even though it should be obvious by the mention of rts, no turn based games. Third, just a brief list of recent favorites to use as a template and in no particular order. Supreme Commander- Unique looking factions, excellent graphics, previously unmatched scale, and an exce

To anyone who's knocking rap listen to just about any track off of Atmosphere's "God Loves Ugly" or "Lucy Ford". The majority of the lyrics are somewhat abstract and you may hear a lyric differently than you did that morning. Also listen to "Always Coming Back Home to You", off of Seven's Travels.
I'm just curious, as someone who plays with locked teams. Is there going to be anything in this expansion that will be of interest to me?
While Diplomacy will be the last micro-expansion, it is most certainly not the end of the Sins saga.
That's all I needed to know. Keep up the good work.
I Heard SOSE diplomacy was gonna be shown. How was it received? Also any info on what's gonna happen to the franchise afterward ie, sequel? Please tell me there will be a sequel. When I heard there wasn't gonna be a third expansion, I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty bummed.
Honestly anyone who's a fan of the genre has to put this in their top 10. Personally, I'd even rank it in the top 3. And though there wasn't a lot in the expansion, what it did contain revolutionized the game. Seriously guys 10 outta 10 and you will continue to make money off of me for as long as I'm a gamer. Not only because of the content but because of all the effort I see everyone putting into their respective products.
Haven't read past the first few pages but have to agree with the original post, even if it's mostly a cosmetic change. And for all those who feel that it shouldn't matter since in the heat of the battle you should be scrolled out getting the best tactical view; I say that you're not admiring one of the best features of the game. If your rig is halfway decent then every once in a while I like to zoom in and enjoy the fruits of my labor by watching a couple of enemy frigates get pun
Similar question. Been playing entrenchment for a while and the Advent and TEC starbase destroyers were pretty straight forward but after extablishing a solid infrastructure I started to branch out and found I can't seem to find a similar craft in the Vasari arsenal. Am I just looking over their tech tree too fast cause I don't think I am?
The conclusion is that there should be one starship that is basically a moving starbase, maybe stronger than one though, could move slow, could have weak points, lots of other ideas could be added, oh and it would be maybe 2 or 3 times bigger than a starbase!?
I personally disagree they should be as durable as starbases, however I think that this thought as well as the other one about super caps is a great idea. Another class of spacecraft would add a w
Already listed my top 5 but I'm not seeing a whole lot of activity on this post so I'm gonna give it a bump by listing honorable mentions since music is a hobby of mine (listening; not playing). 36 Crazyfists ("The Tide and It's Takers" is a great cd. Alaska finally has a premiere group!) Slipknot (Need I say more?) Rise Against (Their early stuff was great) Flogging Molly (Traditional Irish music with a punk kicker) Dry Kill Logic (Paper Tig
There are way too many posts for me to bother reading but I gotta ask; does anyone really care about the diplomacy aspect of this game? I usually just lock the teams at the start anyway. It just seems like such a waste of manpower to work on this aspect of the game. I'll probably still buy the expansion because the third expansion will probably require it but I kinda feel like it'll be a waste of money since this direction doesn't interest me in the least.
Am I the only one who liked C&C Tiberium wars and it's expansion and despised the remake of Red Alert? I just thought it was too tongue in cheek for me. Also I really hope they don't take this sequel in the same direction that DOW 2 did. They took a great franchise and ruined it by trying to cross genres and appeal to a wider audience consequently alienating their fan base.
