Although being able to provide games at a cheaper price, Steam for example did not. Prices at steam (and probably other DD providers) were almost always higher as in retail. Launch prices still are. You can put your PC, a wireless mouse and keyboard into your living room and enjoy a console feeling while having the advantages of the PC (mouse and keyboard ^^).

Looks interesting. But why do smaller Devs seem to always have a minimum resolution of 1024*768? I'm probably not the only one playing on a hd ready tv (1280*720 non interlaced; I just prefer a large screen over more detail on a tiny screen ;)) as these are just dirt cheap nowadays.

It isn't about what system you use. You could argue that a 100% system does not really make much sense as it is more or less not possible to rate the fun of a game this concise. A maximum of 5 Stars might be insufficient as you don't make a difference between really great games and great games. The reason that nowadays games get such high scores has to do with a) publisher and b) customers. There are some publishers who do pressure magazines, reviewers into giving good scores

B5. This is one of the first series that had a complex storyline written over several episodes with characters who had to make realistic choices (with consequences). The main storyline was told in every episode even if the focus was on a side plot (and from time to time there were some dumb side plots; but usually the main storyline saved these episodes a bit). Without B5 there probably wouldn't be series like BSG (or even Dexter) who focus on a larger plot and consequences. DS9 on

Thanks. :) With notebook graphics chips it's a bit harder to tell which are really better. For desktops the 4670 is up to 50% faster than the 4650. You have to take in mind that desktop chips usually are faster than their notebook counterparts (ATI being more close to the desktop version as Nvidia afaik). The 4870 currently would be top of the line (and those chips do take a lot of power, if you need some battery life, mid range chips would be better). You might have a look at

In your price range I'd try to look out for a notebook with either a Geforce 9800m, 250m or Radeon 4670. These should be comparable in speed (higher number are better of course). The processor does not matter that as almost any dualcore processor is more than fast enough. Anything with more than 2 GHz should be fine (most gaming notebooks are bottlenecked by their graphics card, processor is ultra fast but the game slows down as the graphics chip is not nearly as fast compared to the

I still am waiting for an 4x game that can rival MOO2. Imo it`s economic system was even better than Civs one (at least lategame). I yesterday bought Gal Civ 2 to give a try again because I still remember not liking the system that much after I tried it a few years ago. After reading the article I maybe should have bought SotS instead (both were low prize) but than I would have missed on the diplomacy features... IMHO the way you have to manage your planets in MOO2 is just superior to

So far I think winning a hard tournament isn't that hard as you'll be able to get usually around 100 favor times even when your team is loosing. As long as your team will win at least half the games you'll still win the tournament. Key is killing the enemy DGs as fast as possible. Get the best gear possible and when you'll manage to kill the AI fast enough your team mates won't die that often and keep leveling up. One thing I noticed in my last game though is that long games can be fr

In my opinion potions are a way to encourage a more aggressive playstyle. Demigod already is quite defensive with it's number 1 rule "don't die". Half on HPs? Better retreat even if you might get a kill. The chance of getting a potion can be an incentive to finish a fight even if you'll lose lots of hitpoints and enemy demigods are near as the potion might enable you to continue fighting, to retreat without getting killed or to let of some high mana spells that you otherwise would not have th

This wasn't ment to seriously. :) But in the end QoT does have low base damage and no skills to enhance it. The easiest way to get damage up is using minions. Compared to minion damage weapon damage alone could just not explain the damage increase after spikes when running around with full minions.

Well I'm usually playing random teams and the problem should only arise when the teams are pretty evened out. If you are playing against a beginner only team, the game would end at around level 10, same goes with a skilled pre-made team against a random team. In the end it's about what strategy might be the best depending on the circumstances past level 11 (at least for me strategy til then is relatively fixed, but after that point it's completely open). I would call myself a

Thanks for the replys. I might try out getting speed items (but I think sacrificing idols might not be worth it. All lvl 4 idols cost around 8k and probably would dish out more damage than a single mageslayer). Problem might be that I will do less damage than my opponent and will die quickly if I spend my money on items like mageslayer and ahskandor. I just had the chance to try out Goddess of Thorns in a game that went til lvl 20 together with Armor of Vengeance and Bulwark of Ages w

Hi I played a lot with QoT and usually going after an offensive build. I'm not a pro player, still doing mistakes, but having lots of fun with it. The thinking behind this build is doing as much damage as possible as early as possible. Here is where ground spikes and minions come in. Ground spikes reduces enemy defense while QoT does not do much damage. Therefore it is important to get as much conventional damage as possible. This can be achieved by minions (shamblers and idols).
