The ability to have more than one commander with a task force or fleet was changed to one commander only a while back. There are moments when a fleet will not accept more ships despite having plenty of logistic points available. luceo non uro

May not be 'correct' yet if I suspect my starting position is untenable, I'll reload with the cheats and check out the map to ensure there's resources - as well as where and who my nearest neighbors are. luceo non uro

Agree with Publius of NV. Aid Research appeared crucial in the old days to ensure you didn't get left behind tech wise. Used it for eons and actually miss it. Maybe tweek it so you have to have a lab built on your colony before you can use it on that colony? luceo non uro

This is in Retribution - with or without patches or beta opt ins... The Pragmatic ability to stave off conflict for 50 turns seems broken. Used it, 6 turns later AI declares war. Also, the ability to Aid Research is non existent - even at turns 450+ luceo non uro

Yeah. Generally need about a 100 turns to even begin to fend off warmongering AIs, including the 50 turns where no one declares war on you bonus. Best games I've played, I made it to about turn 100 before I met up with other AIs and had saved the 50 benefit to use. Gave me a fighting chance to fend off their massive wave attacks and then crank up the war machine to push them back and seize a few of their systems. luceo non uro

When a new turn begins, resource amounts are adjusted to show the new turn's total. If the market is visited and resources are purchased, the purchased resource total loses everything except for the amount purchased. Example:, mined Durantium generates 40 per turn and that resource amount is shown at a new turn's kick off. Currently running the incredible AData XPG Z1 16GB (2x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 for RAM. As we all know GCIII has the ability to devour RAM like candy! :) Reckon picking up an additional 16GB would be plenty? luceo non uro

The mercenaries help out a lot - especially in early/mid game - specifically the mercs that increase your cash, trade, research, raw production, military production, manufacturing and the "Swayer" that instantly flips any non capitol planets to your empire. Give it a shot - it's well worth it. luceo non uro

Yeah, it wigged me out too. As I had just researched the +4 morale tech and had happy buildings on my planets and my morale rate was fairly decent by then - I just hit the 'give me a moment' and began researching the ladder to Interstellar Republic. Not sure what all happens when you create a New Commonwealth - I just knew I didn't care for the mini me that appeared. luceo non uro
