Nice to hear the beta-testers saying there has been a big improvement. Looking forward to seeing the next two weeks worth of improvements when they patch it to 1.1 tomorrow. Hopefully they got a lot more bug fixes, UI improvements and balancing done.

I played for a couple hours last night on Vista 64 with no issues. Your problems could be due to something entirely different, e.g. your video card. Hard to pin these things down.

[quote who="Jharii" reply="35" id="2723838"] I don't see a problem with people posting genuine issues (bugs, et al) with the game. I am sure that Stardock doesn't mind either. They may not be aware of some of them. Besides, everyone's money spent the same. If people want to complain, it's their right to. I just prefer it done constructively. I think people should at least do Stardock the courtesy of waiting until tomorrow and trying out the 1.1 release version before they start complaining. After all Stardock was nice enough to give us acces to the game a day early even though it's not the release build. Consider it a free preview to start learning about how the game works. I don't think it's fair to start judging based on a pre-release version.

Giant mega-game studios like Blizzard with literally billions of dollars in cash can afford to sit on a game for a couple years and keep polishing (ahem Starcraft 2). Indie studio like Stardock on the other hand have bills to pay and have to release on schedule, take their chances with the reviewers, and keep polishing and supporting their games for months and years after release (which incidently the big game corps don't bother to do since they already have your money and don't reall

I pre-order several weeks ago and didn't get an email confirmation either. I emailed stardock and they confirmed I was in their system. Just make sure you write down your confirmation number and you should be fine.

I'm going with the digital download. Save a tree and save some oil by skipping a physical box and manual! Plus I long ago gave up trying to get PC games from Canadian retailers at their release, there are usually major delays and the customer service is terrible. Until retailers can have a box in my hands faster than I can get it by waiting for the time it takes to download, I consider their entire business model obsolete.

Star Control 2 hasn't been mentioned yet, one of my favourite old games ever. Others already mentioned that I'd like to see: X-Com (since the UFO games weren't very good) Dungeon Keeper Alpha Centauri Castles Mech-Warrior for PC (i.e without dumbing it down for the console market)
