Out of the AoW games, Shadow Magic, hands down.
Just to not completely de-rail this thread, I just want to add that I completely agree with GW Swicord 's original post, and dividing magic in particular into sub-schools at a certain point. Of course, the magic would still be based around Life Magic, but I'd be inclined to suggest the schools of Necrolytism (Good), Naturalis
I think that wheter you're Fallen or Human, it doesn't ENFORCE you to be "good" or "evil". They are just the two prime opposing parties, and even that can most likely be changed through diplomacy. I'm not sure if trying to play neutral will have any specific in-game effect (it's never been mentioned), but presumably you'd be able to utilize "half of this" and "half of that". Not that it'd concern me, since if I'm doing a druidic faction, we're talking the shadow druids on crack, emposing
I am curious If the game was going to have a specific campaign like GalCiv?
Yes. Confirmed numerous times. It's even been mentioned in such ways that some people apparently got the idea that there's not going to be a sandbox mode. Which is, of course, hearsay and heresy!
I would assume it would since the game is planed to be a franchise. If so I was hoping stardock might give up some details about it . Will the campaign follow the story of a specific cha
We're talking massive, global mayhem? Starfire As the sky catches fire, meteor burning flames comes crashing down through the atmosphere towards a huge game area, covering an enormous amount of land (or sea). All cities are basicly Alpha-Centauri-nuked, forests catches fires and are burnt to crisps, roads are destroyed, and thousands upon thousands, possibly millions, of people are incinerated. Entire armies are potentially destroyed; possibly even heroes if they

1) I'd like there to be a mechanic that lets your soldiers or army simply take what they can carry. Just as an example, let's say that my army of 1000 soldiers (with +1 Flails of Fail) crushes an army of 300 soldiers (with +2 Axes of Win); An average of 150 of my surviving 1000 soldiers (for arguments sake, let's say all my soldiers survived) is now using +2 Axes of Win, instead of their previous equipment - thus increasing the average damage or attack of said soldiers. I don't understand the attachment some people have to elves, orcs, and the whole slew of incredibly, horribly generic fantasy creatures & races. I don't know, it could be that the prime of fantasy I've experienced myself was with David Eddings, and he uses none of the generic "Elves, Orcs, and Dragons". I for one welcome our new human overlords.
the History Channel today; History of the Channelers. I'm sorry, but I really have no idea where the channelers come from. My assumption is simply that the weave of magic is coming together again. I remember reading that magic itself was somehow crystallized and shattered by the war & the cataclysm. The ability to inherently channel magic, such as the Channelers do, may have been "commonplace" before - but as the magic was crystallized, it stopped flowing

How could I've missed this? "People play campaigns in Dungeons & Dragons in the real world that last for years. We could do that with 64-bit. We couldn't do it with 32-bit because you can't make the landmass that big -- that's been a big memory limitation," he claimed.
