thank you astax, really if you dont know if a topic has been talked about before, just ry doing a search for it, oddly enough, you would probably get about 312 results. there wont be either of those in this game till at least an expansion, and when the terror star used to be in the old game, the up would always try to ban it. its fun, until the enemy starts making your planets disappear, and start bombing the hell out of a planet, and you get angry tha

actually if you start the game and then close out and start again by loading a save, when you finish the game you will have to log onto the metaverse to submit the score and after you click yes it will say you have to log on, and i would guess you could log on using your other name maybe, but i dont know.
have you had your survey ships exploring during that? because anomalies tend to do that sometimes, give you a 25% bonus like that
neutral doesnt get any weapons or defences do they? didnt it say that but i could have sworn reading something from brad that said they werent actually there, because a neutral race wouldnt think about weapons or defence. i dont know haha im probably wrong
im gonna lean towards they havent put it in for some reason. ive never seen one, but then again have only seen a few of the 700 manu. bonuses too, so it could just be more rare, but i dont think its been implemented yet
ok to begin with, in each patch they have and 1.1 when fully finished, the ai has been changed, they are constantly adapting it and have been asking the top metaverse players to tell them what strategies they use and what dumb stuff the ai has been doing so they can fix it. if you want a better game, crank up the ai dificulty. in v1.1 tech trading can be disabled so if you dont like how they do it, you can keep them from doing it. all i have to say is
i think that stardock said they thought the terrorstars just made the game too unbalanced. maybe if they dont add it back in later on, someone will make a mod for the game
but you realize the ai could do the same to you and then people would complain, why does the ai always bombard my planets? and there will never be control over fleet or ground battles, they have said that multiple times on many posts. the devs didnt want tactical combat and control over the fleets, so they didnt put it in. they designed it the way they wanted and have explained why they dont want that kind of combat system.
wow, as long as i dont stomp on them before they get to the biggest sizes, they definately all have built them to use against me.
games, great, love the browncoats, but the colonials are better. Link and Link
NO holy crap how many times do we have to say this, the ai never cheats. there is a difference from cheating and getting a bonus, at the higher levels they get economic and production bonuses to make it harder for you. they still follow all the same rules, they just get a boosted economy
the bonus content is extra ship parts and a few other things, im not sure the exact details. haha and nicely done shogun haha. i love that commercial
well, like syneris said, it would ruin gameplay because then there is nothing stopping you from just taking a powerful fleet and destroying everything, taking the strategic part away, also there would be nothing stopping th ai from doing the same thing to you. and mtg202 said something about making marines, but the argument against that, is by using population it adds to the strategy again, you cant just make all your transports and use population fro
that is why there is a MODDING section to the forum so you can ask for things there or discuss ideas
no they wouldnt, these people making these mods make them because thats what they want, if they wanted something else, then theyd make something else, like shogun said way up at the top.... let it be. if you are sick of seeing it, just avoid the mod library or make something of your own. as it is, theres only 9 star trek related things in the library, and 2 star wars related mods....... IN 6 PAGES WORTH! in 6 pages there are only 11 things and most of
ive yet to see the starbuck system, although it would be cool haha since i'm part of the colonial fleet empire, i was didnt even realize the relationships till i saw wardell and i was like wait....... wow haha im stupid i didnt even notice haha.
yeah an option, but things are easier to say then do. the devs would have to do a lot of work to change the combat system, its a lot of work, and the game was designed the way it was designed. the devs could have started from day one with tactical combat, but they decided they wanted to do it this way.
actually e-stab, the resources have been toned done for 1.1 beacuse the system is a little different they aren't quite as strong.
3. its not hard at all to upgrade the precursor ships, the rangers are huge hulls, as soon as you are able to make huge hull ships you can put whatever you want on it, then click the precursor, and hit the upgrade button and you can upgrade it to any type of huge hull design you have 6. i've managed to buy resources for as little as 2000 cash. i bought 5 in one turn through a combo of tech and money, not too hard
you can see yourself in your metaverse scores when you click on your name. so everyone else could see you then too.
THE AI DOESNT CHEAT. stardock has said it over and over again, and for each level it is clearly documented in many places what each level the ai gets. i have no problem at normal, i cant play higher then that yet. just play more games, try new strategies, and you'll get better. you have to buy your first few colony ships, and maybe factory too. it makes it a lot easier. i usually buy colony ships till i have about 600 cash left. its not soo hard like
well if all you wanted to change out was the engines just wait like most of us do till you ahve some improved weapons or defenses to add too.
dont add more then one trade module because they dont help. and dont add any engines because once the trade route is established they all fall to the default 1 move each turn. the extra engines will only help it get to the first destination faster. and even if after the route was created it kept the speed, you wouldnt want that anyway because the longer the trip takes the more money you get. so fast routes aren't profitable.
wow, imagine what it would be like if the planets actually went AROUND the stars? that would add a different aspect to the game, you think the colonized planet is at point X but its actually rotated around to the other side of the star. it would make the game run even slower on the big maps.
as justas5 just said, civ4 is exactly what you called galciv2 "Fundamentally the game has not changed, I have paid $45 for an ok update to the graphics" civ 4 is just civ 3 with a new look but still the same game. come to think of it, civ3 is just civ 2 with a new look too... and oh wait, they are all the same. you're disappointed.... congratulations. try playing a few more games and up the dificulty and map size.
