Btw the cowbell reference is from an SNL (Saturday Night Live) skit with Will Ferrell. I concur that the WB doesn't fit. Otherwise you either need a better image host or upload a small file, it took awhile to load and I'm on a fairly fast connection.

I'm curious how you guys deal with the screen for WB Config. The bottom part is cut off my netbook and it makes it difficult to change skins. Easy to change when adding a new one, but difficult when switching to another existing one. Good list, but I find Mica does very nicely as well though I'm sure you couldn't include all the candidates. There are plenty of them.

Sorry Dr, admittedly I haven't chosen to use DX myself so probably bypassed that post at the time it was made. I have tried Stealth OS Mini DX and that is very close to what I was talking about it. Overall nice interface. Hotkey for making it appear/disappear. I also tried XP Dark Ultimate. While it was also good as well, not as easy to adjust to needs as the Stealth one. Perhaps even Objectdock is a better way to go. In the end I'm not s

I only meant that I read on here every once in awhile that DX isn't meeting the expections. There are people using it, but it doesn't appear to be as mainstream as Stardock would like it to be. I have looked at a few of the DX theme and may try some on here, but most seem not to include much in the way of navigation tools similar to the products I mentioned. They are mostly widgets for weather, media players, rss feeds and cpu monitoring. I'm not doubting there are

I haven't seen too much on Wincustomize about netbooks (there was one DX theme that said it was adjusted for netbooks) but it seems to me this is a perfect niche for DesktopX to work its magic. I recently purchased a netbook for my son and I'm trying to customize it before I give it to him. Its pretty snappy but XP doesn't lend itself well to using a small screen. Especially where the primary uses would be navigating the net, viewing pictures, blogging, things like that. <p

Just seems odd being a celebrated skinner and popular on here that he couldn't at least bid goodbye and tell those who enjoy his work where we can find it. Irresponsible to simply pull them all. Ah well good riddance then.

What is going on? I'm confused. Why is Night Train now BuhBye and post says Please remove. I can't find any skins by Night Train either. I was going to post a question about iSpire black, which is awesome, but had one question about a part of it as to whether it was the WB beta fault or the skin. Skins by him no longer exist and I found no forum post aside from this to explain it at all :(

Yup I got mine. I've used the Beta then RC off and on for awhile and it is a super stable OS. I'll use ObjectDock so the new taskbar isn't a big deal to me (I don't particular like it or hate it). Well worth the discounted price for sure. I also get it delivered on release day.

It works great for me in Win7. I used the Aero Metal skin and it skinned things really well. I didn't try any others at this point, as I don't use Win7 on a daily basis yet (too much to get setup again since its on a different partition). One thing I was surprised at was it didn't require a re-boot to use it. I'm used to even a tiny update from WB to require a re-boot to fully take affect. Its been awhile since I installed WB from scratch, so maybe its always been that way, but it took me b

I used the beta and I have the RC, on a separate partition. I think its awesome MS is allowing us to use it for nearly a year for free!! How can you beat it? And "superman" mentioned that he didn't like installing and uninstalling OS? Win7 is so easy to install. It takes less than a half an hour, which for windows is pretty good. Just make sure to have created a partition for it unless you really do plan to get Win7 when it comes out and don't mind risking Vista. If you don't want to mess

I haven't seen anything regarding this so wondering if I'm the only one experiencing it. Over the past several weeks everytime I visit Wincustomize.com the featured skins don't change, they are always the same. The articles and news update but those images at the top never change. Also my SDC skin browser hasn't gotten skin updates since April 6th. The two things may be connected? I do realize the site is undergoing a re-write but didn't figu

I like the direction its taking. I like it to be easier to navigate and it seems like it will be. I assume like previous re-do's, subscribers will get an early look to test out any bugs before it goes live.

Here are past ones, odd that I can't do a search for subscriber skin to find them. [link="https://forums.wincustomize.com/337224"]WWW Link[/link] [link="https://forums.wincustomize.com/322229"]WWW Link[/link] this one summarizes three of them [link="https://forums.wincustomize.com/321059"]WWW Link[/link] This one is actually for OBNT but added it anyway [link="https://forums.wincustomize.com/330048"]WWW Link[/link] Hope that helps.

I understand what vstyler says about updates in WB and needing skins to show off new features. Usually though there is at least one skin in an update that reflects the use of these changes. Although maybe that is only the major releases, not just the point releases. Anyway fine with me, I'm excited to see new skins anyway or old ones quickly updated. So come on skinners use the new features......... PLEASE :)

I like the black a little, but its a little too black on toolbars. Also the start menu is compact with no choice for normal, which irritates me. I do believe though to use the Wii logo you need permission. Its a great idea, also be neat to have a set of icons to go with it.
