Phoon: ? Please explain your comment since I'm not sure what you mean.
I have to say that as much as I have disliked the guis of Microsoft's applications before as much am I starting to get a feeling that Microsoft has finally understood the importance of a good gui that focus on the workflow of the users. It is my belief that it is thanks to Apple, and other developers that Microsoft will now find the advantage of designing userfriendly guis since the above screenshot gives m
I agree FilkoSE. It seems very strange to give it a bad rating since it's neither a bad design nor a bad execution. What gives?
Hi Edawan! "ISV" usually means Independent Software Vendor. And remember, there are no stupid questions only stupid answers.
Here's a guess... Did both of you download a beta[b] version of IconPackager? When I last did that it still had the much dreaded iprepair.dll included in it which messed up all my icons too ( I managed to get the beta version of IconPackager uninstalled and then could install a NON-beta version of IconPackager. Try th
Great article Brad! Doing a good job shining the light on the stuff that "normal" users don't think about and much less care about. Many thanks.
thomassen: nope
Aha! Brad, I believe I found what you were referring to.. https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/documentation/dev/custom_files.html I found the Summary Tab But again, from what I can gather the running Gadget still extracts all referred files into a temp directory =\ My hope was that it would be pos
What I forgot to say above was that I would also love to see a "Save Object" and/or "Save Widget" function instead of "Export Widget" and "Export Object". Or "Save Project" or something similar and only use "Export" for Exporting to a Gadget since Gadgets can't be imported for further editing. Sorry to be nitpicking but logic workflows are part of my daily work <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gi
Z³Fx: Check in your Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\DesktopX folder =D I would love to see the "Save Object/Widget" in the Builder menus too, not just the "Save Desktop" which make things quite confusing now. Brad: "(just check the summary page to link in files)" ?? I'm stumped =\ What summary pages? The "DesktopX Documentation" link from my start menu doesn't work =\ </fon
Here's a question for Brad or anyone else at Stardock who may know. Is it possible to make the exported and running gadget's referred files "contained" in one file, like a cab or other "secured"(sorta) container? That would be very, very good. I hope you understand what I'm hinting at here
Of course it's about money. It's only about money. With Jark out of the way Spyed and minions will have no one demanding to check that they are not spending all of the member fees on personal luxuries. The financial records were withheld from Jark even before he was locked out. It's a good bet that Jark wanting to make sure the checks and balances were in order was the big reason Spyed felt cornered and decided
Lo Joerg! Yupyup, what Koasati says. Check this link for a step by step =D https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=176&AID=84433#650238
It's a pretty good bet that it's because of two things. 1. the possibility to make standalone Gadgets. 2. and the very nice discount(only valid in august) to OD costumers, like rabidrobot mention(that got me buying a pro license).
Glad to hear! =D
Hihi borix! =D To find the code for the weather applet do this: 1. Right-click on the weather applet icon in the dock. 2. Select "Weather Docklet Settings..." 3. In the popup window click on the Weather Channel logo. 4. Once the Weather Channel website loads type in Holland in the "Enter city or US zip" field, and hit Enter. (Tip: you can also search using Netherlands to get the Amsterdam read
Hi Richard! I was equally confused when I tried to see how exporting something as a gadget would work. Since it's impossible to reload a gadget to change it's behaviour etc. I figured I would have to save the project as a widget or an "object" incrementally through the project. It's not a very good setup but it seems to
You might wanna check out XnView too. It has some really cool editing and batchfunctions too besides being a great image viewer http://www.xnview.com/ And it's free =D
Bash2cool: yes, I agree with you. Too many in quite a short timespan. Maybe checking up on who the passengers were may give some hint of if there was something else beyond plain accidents. Today you have to do all checking up on things like that yourself since the media will not do that anymore =\ I would start checking the flight lists for politicians, security related people, military contractors,
Here's another good read on how absurd things can get: Hey. This First-to-File Thing Is Scary http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20050814182026814 I is very likely that "prior art" will save Apple this time.

BakerStreet: you must have missed the word "like" in my comment. It was an example of the visual feedback.
No that's what it is about BakerStreet. It's like when you use the Google cache when searching for different criteria. The returned links have your specified words highlighted in the pages.
