Terrorstars

I may be quite dumb about this... :notsure: , but how do I use a terror star? It doesnt have any abilities on the shipscreen and nothing happens when i move it into a star occupied by an enemy. Is it bugged or am I doing this wrong?

Piety :sniff!:

Attack a star system as if attacking a ship... the star system should disappear. Search the threads for "terror star"

Well, I thing terror stars may look very cool, but they are not of much use, being slow and considering blowing star systems not being, ehm, progressive way of doing politics :)

They saved my butt! The Alterans were wiping me out with superior ships and technology. But I got two terror stars built, sent 15 dreadnaughts with them to keep them protected. When one was damaged fighting, the bases would repair it while I used an undamaged one to attack with. Once I got to their home star system I blew it up. Funny, after that they were suddenly willing to negotiate a peace treaty...hehehe The big stick diplomacy really works... :)

Plus, if you load them up with influence modules you can just park one in an enemy sector and in a few turns their stars will start defecting.

I just used them to destory the Arceans who were so far ahead militarily I would never catch them.

Diplomacy is for wimps. Besides Arceans taste sort of like chicken, so barbecuing their systems is always a good options.

For limited experience, Terror Stars move to slowly for any map bigger than small or addressing a cluster on a bigger map. Every alien has watched the holovids of Star Wars, I've lost two to battleships - on had +9 defense, the other +11 - both were lost on first attacks.

I used the cultural module suggestion and it worked great. I went from getting killed on Tough to winning easily once I completed the first two.

I agree that diplomacy is for wimps, except when the pesky aliens are trashing you all through the universe with superior fleets and technoogy. Then you need to dicker with them long enough to get the placement of the knife in their back just right...EVIL GRIN :HOT:

When I sent the terror stars out I kept them together and had ALL the defensive mods on them. That's a total defense of 64 on the starbase, plus with the offensive mods on them, all of my dreadnoughts were +24 on attacks. I was able to even defend against some overlords to take out the home star system.

It may have been a bug, but when I kept the dreadnaughts in the same square with the terror star I was getting movement rates of six. I haven't played with the new patch yet so I am not sure if they fixed it or not.
