Frogboy-about the new pay version

:D

I was, at one time, 13th on metaverse. Took several months off from computers due to work. Came back, played a game and was 525! Well, more people must be playing, and that is great.

Anyway, my question is this: Are the any plans ever to allow multiplayer games, or tactical combat option where you can control the ship(as in MOO2).

The new update looks nice with map editor, 2 new races,
and maybe some other perks, but the major changes would be the 2 I mentioned. I may or may not buy the upgrade. Seems like the game is not radically changed with the update.

Adding multiplayer or allowing the option to control a ship in combat would make the game dramatically better. It is an excellent game already, but I think it can take the next step with either of the 2 aforementioned improvements.

If I am not interested at all in map editing, what in the new $19.95 add on makes the gameplay different besides the 2 races?

ps making scouts autoexplore would be nice as well. heh. but that is a minor perk.

That is strange: you haven't a Galciv player associated with you in your profile :notsure:

He's said no to this on more than one occasion, maybe for GalCiv2 but not for GalCiv1, its my understanding that other than getting AP out then probably doing some patches for it they are done with GalCiv1 now.

Ok, I am surely nitpicking but:
- why adding multiplayer is great with a game that can be played in HOURS over 240 turns (only 20 games years)
- what is the added value of controlling a ship in combat? We allready have it, on the gobal screen :):
You choose the ennemy you attack, you can flee and lure the ennemy into chasing you. It isn't like if you can only fight at systems.

My name on metaverse is zoshan. And I have a roommate so long games are no problem. Just play them when we both have time.

If you're interested in playing "multi-player", the only method currently available is a succession game from Realms Beyond empire. I don't know if they are starting one but they have one going on right now and they usually post AARs.

If you're not familiar with the succession game format, it basically is a game which one player plays a year then emails to another player to play, etc. etc.

I just bumped the thread: Realms Beyond GalCiv Succession Game 5: Training Day , which outlines where the discussion is held. You should visit and see what they have to offer.
