Oh, boy...

Once again feel somewhat compelled to explain to all the non-USA-based folks here, that November 27th in the USA is "Thanksgiving Day" a non-religious holiday celebrating some obscure event soon after the founding of this country. Basically, us Yanks stuff ourselves with turkey and other foods, perhaps watch sports on TV, and revel in the fact that it's Thursday and we're NOT AT WORK!!.

So, don't take offense at the US-ego-centric stuff about Thanksgiving. Play some more GalCiv, and enjoy the diversity of Planet Earth...

We aussies will allow you guys to have one or two days off. We do after all have around 10-15 days off in the year. (depends on which state you are in).

The way I see it, people can thank God in whatever capacity and priority they so choose, so long as they are thankful for what they have and not lamenting over what they don't have.

Now, onto feast arrangements. This is where I definitely side with the pro-ham stance discussed in the Jedi thread. People can have turkey as the main course at my house, but there had better be room on the table for a ham as well. I got plans for that ham, plans that will last for days! :d

Thanks for the reality check, Runner!

I read in the paper today about a soft drink (soda for the yanks) over there that was of turkey & gravy flavour (flavor).

Apparently all 6000 bottles in the production run sold out. The flavour was described as "caramel, descending to lard". Makes me think of Dr Pepper, which has been pretty unsuccessful here in OZ! (personally I don't mind it, but it is very sweet).
