Our goal by the end of the month is to have around 500 pre-orders for the expansion pack based on the polls.

Unfortunately, at the rate things are going, we won't even come close to that.

Those of you who responded positively on the poll we hope will consider pre-ordering the expansion so that we can get a better idea of how much actual interest there is in an expansion. If there isn't sufficient interest in the expansion pack we'll have to discontinue its development so that we can focus on The Political Machine (our other game project in development).

I picked up dregnin.net for the Corporate Machine, I played it back when it was still Entrepeneur. But having played GC I am totally impressed, and I want the expansion pack, so all you slackers out there who haven't preordered, hop to it.

I'm Drengin.net too, but I reeeeeally want the expansion pack. I think the interest is there, but whether you see it or not is the question. I know every Drengin.net subscriber is interested, but since we won't count in the "new" Drengin.net subscribers, you might think there's less interest than there is.

I guess the only thing we can do is tell you.

For us Drengin.net people can we or can you enable us to extend our accounts now in support of the expansion? I think I have 6 mos left on mine or something like that, but I would be willing to renew for another year now. Then I would have 1 year and 6 months left on my account. I don't remember how long they last so my numbers maybe off here but maybe this would help? I don't know how this would affect your business model either.

frogboy ive pre-ordered cd copy of xpans. but if there is not enough support for a stand-alone then i would be willing to get drengin.net to get it. love the sound of the extra races :)

there are a couple reasons why I'm not pre-ordering at this time.

One - software delay cycles - I'll probably wait till it gets closer to release - it's still too far away.

Two - it's still basically the same game - I haven't seen enough to get me excited yet.

Of all the feature mentioned - the two additional races is probably my most favorite feature - and definetly would not pre-order if that got dropped. I'm not really crazy about the map editor becasue I rarely in any game create my own maps.

To be honest I really am not interested in "The political machine" and would sooner buy the Expansion for $20 then the Expansion+The political machine for $30...

I will maybe get D-Net by the Time where GC2 Betas start showing up...

Just a quick question here, if I subscribed to drengin would it cost extra to have CDs of the games (GCx, PM) shipped to me (I'm on dialup so unless they're small downlaoding is out of the question :( )?

To make it clear, I got Drengin.net because that was a way of giving 10 more dollars than buying the XPack, and I couldn't care less about the political machine. That's actually buying the xpack for more expensive...

Unfortunatly I will have to wait till it is released to buy it.

The beta is the only reason I would want D net and ovcourse the Beta needs to be released to D net before I get D net.

I am one of those that says yes yes yes after release.

Lord Megatron, I'm confused - I thought D Net only encompassed the games, not the other shareware...? Certainly for me, the other software doesn't show up as registered in SD Central... :notsure: (I just recently upgraded my GalCiv to D Net)

Also, Frogboy... There are no Stellar Frontier forums? Where do I discuss/report problems? I haven't been able to stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time, and I had several crashes also...

I have a few things to say.

Firstly on the Pre-Order situation.
PLEASE dont cancel if you dont get enough Pre-Orders; the mostly likely reason for not getting enough is not a lack of interest but the simple reason that most ppl myself included prefer just to go to our local games store and hand over cash to get the game then and there and not wait weeks in suspense for it.
I REALLY REALLY want to buy the expansion pack it looks absolutely fantastic - but im not pre-ordering it cos id rather just wait til it got released and i get to accumulate points on my loyalty card for GAME. LOL

Secondly.
The Expansion does look fantastic :CONGRAT: especially when you compare it so some of expansion packs released for other games that shall remain nameless...::cough::Civ 3 Play the World::cough::Starcraft Brood War::cough::
Most companies have the idea that they do a little tweaking here and add a few new civs, tech and wonders, and they have an expansion pack.
I think you guys at Stardock should go to some of the other companies that will remain nameless ::cough::Firaxis::cough:: and show them out to do a REAL expansion pack. This one will be definately be worth the 20 (Pounds when it comes out in the uk?) that it will cost unlike some other nameless expansions that were a total waste of money especially in light of recent developments ::cough::Civ 3 Play The World::cough::...
