please explain my metaverse score

Hi
I am gradually making progress and yester day (at beginner level) I made my first military victory and
I was surprised that it scored 1285 or something
My overall score at metaverse is 5 hundred something.
How metaverse score is calculated and why 1285 is discounted more than a half?
Thank you

Score = sum of all scores you submitted, divided by square root of number of submitted scores.

Your score is right, boston. Sum of all scores = 1494. Divided by 7 (the number of games) to get the average, which is 213.43. 213.43 times the square root of 7 (2.65) = 564.68 which rounds to 565.

Actually, Gerakken is adding an extra step (since dividing by X and then multiplying by sqrt(X) is the same as just dividing by sqrt(X) - 1494/sqrt(7) is still 565.

Note that there's also something odd going on with weighting versions of games and "decaying scores", though darned if I know how that works.... but you'll notice that my scores [5891/sqrt(16)= 1473] don't quite work out anymore. [Of course, this might also be because they're still doing the big recalc.]

Bottom line - play more games, get more experience, your MV score will go up! :)

Yep, I am doing it the long way because I just don't think in equations too well, so I got to keep the plan simple in my head. My weapon of choice is words, not figures!
