THE most absurd design flaw

So there I was doing pretty well with a large universe, good alignment, occasional planets, loose clusters. It was mid game I just got dreadnaught tech. and was somewhat ahead of the other majors (still a close race though). When I get this event...."evil forces are gathering on your planet gladstone..." Then a few turns later - Bam - The Draginol (some evil race that is extremly advanced) take over my planet and have a few overlords and about 150,000 cash on hand. Hmmm this could be a problem I say to myself :notsure: So I decide to see if they want to trade some aphrodisiacs....Wow were these guys some kinda drug addicts because they offer me $150,000 for 20 turns! (I could have gone higher but thats all they had). Now I know my diplomacy was outta sight but nobody is that charming ;) . Needless to say It is easy to research and buy a few fleets of overlords after about ten turns (I now have about 1.5 million) and wipe out the silly Draginol....and everyone else. I think it would be a good idea for the next patch to give the Draginol a little common sense when it comes to trading :p

Yes, the Draginol bug has been reported before.

I'm wondering myself why this has still not been fixed.

Only 20 months? I made them give it to me for essentially all eternity. If I actually waited that long, it would amount to something like 600 trillion.

Another time I even got 157,000 (technically, also for all eternity), AND my planet back in return for a peace treaty the very first turn. The reason I only got 157,000 is that once they disappeared I no longer got tribute.

and to think i wasted all that time being co-belligerents with most of the galaxy and using our dreadnaughts vs their overlords...

This event has so much potential, too. It's a real shame that it's so exploitable. My last game I actually chose to let them get off the ground, just to make it interesting.
