More than half of people surveyed in a BBC World Service poll say the re-election of US President George W Bush has made the world more dangerous.

Only three countries - India, Poland and the Philippines - out of 21 polled believed the world was now safer.

The survey found that 47% now viewed US influence in the world as largely negative and such unfavourable feelings extended towards Americans as a whole.

None of the countries polled supported contributing their troops to Iraq.

"Negative feelings about Bush are high and are generalising to the American people who re-elected him."

On average across all countries, 58% of people - and 16 out of 21 countries polled - said they believed Mr Bush's re-election to the White House made the world more dangerous.

Please, RTCP, let's summarize my anti-american statements. As I see it thus far, I've lamented on Bush, the war, and the outrightly hostile way in which people who don't agree with the US government are being treated. Myself included, it seems. There's a difference between the people running the country, and the people living in the country. What we're talking about here is the former. Don't forget that. Your leader is not the end all and be all of your country. That's why he doesn't win votes by 100%. Well, that, and it'd look suspicious. It's never a good idea to rig a landslide.

I've found myself defending Canada's position on human rights and our ability to fend for ourselves on the world stage. Funny how that should come under fire when our topic is Bush. I've defended the UN for their decision not to fall into Bush's folly, and with simple logic. A lot of countries in a war equals a lot more bodies than what we have now. Is that anti-american thinking?

I've taken a lot of insults for simply stating my mind, been called ignorant and stupid. You're speaking your mind as well, and you most definitely have the right to. But I'm not going to insult you for that. And I have no intention of insulting America as a country. Bush has made a mockery of it already, and I have nothing but sympathy for the citizens who have to bear through the next four years.

I don't trust most people I don't know. It's not that they are untrustworthy, it's that I don't know them and there are untrustworthy people in the world. I don't know George W, or any world leaders enough to trust them. We get whatever biased media they want us to get. So for me, I trust the one who made the earth and try not to solve all of the worlds problems. If I can help someone in a small way in my circle of life, I feel like I have accomplished something. But I do give respect and honor to those in authority, as is their due based on the position. I can vote against them in the next election if I am in disagreement.
