Dual Monitor - Dual Desktop - Dual Resolution w/ Desktop X

I run 2 Monitors with different resolutions and have it configured to allow different wallpapers on each monitor, but it runs as 1 large desktop.

Anyways When I try to use desktop X it has problems with the different resolutions on the different monitors. It centers the desktop on the larger resolution monitor, but has odd shadow effects that leaves ghost images around the small desktop area. As well I am unable to get the "start menu" to dock on the monitor on the left where I want it, it keeps docking on the right side of the right monitor.

Any ideas on what I can do to get it so I can get objects to dock on the left side of the left monitor and keep my resolutions the way they are?

I'd appreciate knowing how you got 'em to have their own wallpapers - been trying to figger that one out for some time.
Thanks!

DX has been having some issues with dual monitors for some time with some people. maybe you could help the developers out by going on the news board for DX

its worth a shot.

I use the nView software for nVIDIA cards. There's also UltraMon, that works with all graphics cards. UltraMon has some nice features, but is a bit too pricey IMHO.

nVidia

Ahhh - that explains it. Unfortunately we have ATI cards - I'll have to check into the ATI control to see if it has the same features. Never occurred to me to look there as most of that stuff is useless.
