Iconpackager

Live folders

Just wondering if there is someone familiar with making live folders work properly who can give me a hand with mine. I made them but can't get them to render correctly. No matter what I try, I can't get the bottom of the folders to not show a bit of the white documents.

I can pass on the IP package to anyone who wants to take a look.

I'm not sure live folders will work with Windows 11.

I have the same problem with my IconChanger app.

Can someone point me to an icon package that has live folders that work so I can inspect it?

Never mind, I found one.

I was finally able to correct it. The iconpackeger version with an updated text file icon coming soon.

I uploaded it, but for whatever reason it's not showing on the home page, or if you select Iconpackager in search.

Check your email. I think Doc put a hold on it due to the included script. He's not sure if it is a violation of the Terms of Service. You could PM him to discuss it further.

I wondered about that; maybe it should just be deleted. I really don't mind.

Although that script is safe and optional, non the less I understand.

Delete the the script from the package and resubmit. Slightly change the name of so it doesn't get confused with the other. It's Midnight where Doc is, so it might not get uploaded until tomorrow.

Also, I don't see the Recycle Full icon

I can't delete it, but I want it deleted. I have noticed a couple other issues with it, and I can't be bothered trying to keep fixing things. I am done with it as an IP

Don't get discouraged.

You can't delete it because it's not in the Gallery yet. You can see it on your Latest Skins page, but it's Private and not in the gallery available for download. As I said, fix everything and resubmit it with a slightly different name.

I can't resubmit it because there are problems that I no longer want to work on. It was my first go at creating an icon package, and from everything I learned, iconpackager needs an update because several of the issues I experienced had to do with how iconpackager played with Start 11. I refuse to spend anymore time with it because I have another major project in the works, and I can't do both, especially when one is out of my hands. There is only so much a guy can do, but I do appreciate your encouragement.

I see You are at the same point where I decided to do my own app. ;-)

It's just one of the reasons why some people have lost their love for skinning; it's not fun anymore, especially when the software has not been updated in years. That is a big reason I am developing my own desktop app and making it open source.

I don't understand the kerfuffle.

  • Delete the script file
  • Rename the package's name
  • Add Recycle Full icon

This is about quality control for Stardock. It would be embarrassed if the package couldn't apply to the system properly for Stardock. This is not about you.

Thank you, but you have no clue what you are talking about. I would be more than happy to let you have the IP so you can try to figure it out. It's not about me, it's not about the script, and it's not about one icon being wrong; there are other issues, so unless you understand that, you should just keep quiet. By the way, it finally did get uploaded. I deleted it because I did not want other people downloading something that was broken, so roll your eyes at that.

Yes, it was not about him, but no as well: This was about responsibility. Stardock's responsibility to its customers and subscribers to ensure the art posts and software distributed on its websites is safe and won't cause harm, even inadvertently. It was also about my obligation to do that and to delay posting as necessary if it were decided by the site Admin (Jafo) further testing were necessary. It was also about patience during Moderation which was never promised to anyone to be a "Polaroid" process.

Thanks Doc, I appreciate the understanding. At some point, I might return to it, but for now, I am focusing on my other project.
