Download vidstub.sys

I need to download the vidstub.sys file that Bootskins uses. My computer wouldn't start because it was causing a problem after I tried to change the skin. I went to Last Known Good Configuration which changed the skin back to default. I don't remember exactly what I did after that, but here is the situation: vidstub.sys has been deleted and now my computer can't start again. I can't get into Safe Mode, and Last Good Configuration isn't working - probably because it needs to change vidstub, which no longer exists.
Can somebody please send me their own vidstub.sys? I can get it onto my computer with a boot disk. The file should be in Windows\system32\drivers.

Just boot into safe mode and uninstall bootskin, in least that's supposed to be done?

Odd. You should be able to hit F8 before it shows the boot logo and it should have shown the boot menu.

Since apparently vidstub.sys is the bootskin file...couldn't one get it by downloading another copy of the Bootskin app?

This is the only info/mention I can find about it and a similar issue, from the news article thread when Bootskin alpha was first released:

Question:

" HELP!!

It screwed my win2000! I cannot boot anymore, when the logo it's supposed to appear, the screen displays strange colors (fast) then turns black, and doesn't boot anymore. Safe mode doesn't work either.

I accessed my computer's directories with the winXP recovery console, but which files do I need to delete to uninstall the damn bootscreen?

thanks
