Favicons for Stardock's websites

I just wonder why for such a company, and such an activity in Skinning and drawing, the different websites and Wincustomize in first don't get a favicon within the URL's ... ???

It should be nice to have some

As i'm talking about this there's a little soft which keeps the favicons's website apart from temporary internet files ==> http://jceel.free.fr/FAVORG.ZIP

Ah, but WC does have a favicon: https://www.wincustomize.com/favicon.ico and so does Stardock's website: https://www.stardock.com/favicon.ico

But I don't exactly understand how that thing works. When I bookmark the site, the favicon is there, but it disapears after a while. Dunno. But anyhow, there is one.

IIRC, IE stores the favicons in the temporary inter files folder. So if you set your history for say.. 30 days, the favicon will dissapear then.

FAVORG keeps the icons somewhere else, so they stay as long as you dont reformat your computer, or uninstall the program.

Gee, I sound like a salesman

neophil, I don't know why you don't see it. I just bookmarked again, and it's there. A nice little lizard or something.

OK, I downloaded FavOrg, and it indeed doesn't seem to automatically be able to retrieve WC's favicon.  Well, in any case, you can always just download it manually to to data directory of FavOrg and select to assigna custom icon. Works.

paxx, i've of course thought to do it but the https://www.wincustomize.com/favicon.ico is just a little black square ... and the https://www.stardock.com/favicon.ico doesn't look pretty at all (i can't ever see what it is ... )

neo, it shows as a black square in your browser, but if you download it, you'll see it's a real icon.

Right !!! I think it's because (at least for the favicon of Wincustomize) it's because it's a XP format icon)
Favicons have to be in 16X16 and 256 colours (not sure for the numbers of colours) to be well displayed
