3. Are you intending on working on the AI to develop a more sophisticated system? As the old AI did appear to be just cheats, and It did necessitate a Rush to get a Titan as opposed to more interesting strategies.

If you want fancy stuff like a more realistic opponent capable of strategic thought that can play the game properly and can use "more interesting strategies", that's what the "Internet Multiplayer" button on the main menu is for. Some guys even play this in 5 on 5 (10 real humans split onto two opposing teams, no silly AI's).

I am aware that AI is one of the most difficult things to develop. I have also played multiplayer, but with all due respect if I want to play some single player, it's my own business? At higher difficulties the AI does affect the gameplay significantly and leads to only certain efficient tactics unless you want to get overwhelmed.

Sins II is not a remaster, it's a full sequel, so folks should expect updated gameplay and systems. Ironclad is working with Stardock on the sequel with many of the core devs from the original game. As to AI, it's a bit too soon yet as gameplay is still in development.

There will be more details revealed about modding later. Sufficed to say multiple Sins 1 modders are involved with Sins 2 development.

Not to hijack this thread but on behalf of all the old Testers for Sins 1 and expansion & Ashes, I'd like to thank the devs for re-looking into making a new sequel to this franchise. I hope to one day be afforded the opportunity to test and play the heck out of the new title.

I will love to know if multi-threading is going to be a part of this new title as it is so very depressing to try even playing the old Sins with a friend on multiplayer after a few hours becomes a nightmare of stuttering lag on modern systems. Can we expect the same type or better performance than Ashes or as you mentioned this is a total rework so we can maybe see Ryzen 9 full optimization? (wishful thinking)

General FYI - I'd suggest creating separate threads for new questions just to make it easier for new folks to find stuff.

In order...

AI: I don't know yet. Ask again in a few months.
Multithreading: Multi-threaded, multi-core, 64-bit.
Modding: Later on (i.e., next year) we hope to invite some of the major Sins 1 modders to start on porting their work over.

Could we have an independent first person observer window (camera) that we could move around? A second (windowed only) instance of the view we have now as the player. Maybe something I could drag to a second monitor?

Sins is a beautiful game but I always end up playing from 40,000 feet so I can see what is happening across the whole map (zooming in for structure placement and battles). We miss out on so much of the cool stuff that's happening below us.

If we could have a camera that we could control separately (or attach it to a ship in the conflict) so we could have a birds eye view and a first person (in system) view while the battles are going on then we would not have to choose between playing the game as God or enjoying the beauty of the close up view.

What about sponsoring official, sanctioned, backed by Stardock, mods as DLC? They would have to be mods that didn't duplicate existing intellectual property (IP) like Star Wars or Star Trek but new IP ideas wouldn't be a problem. The Sins modding community has some wonderful talent and would be more than up to the task.

Playing against the Borg as in (Sacrifice of Angels - Trinity, Armada - Rebellion) are staples of my gaming life (nourishing the soul). What wonders lurk in the minds of modders? E4X my goodness. (I'm not forgetting the other wonderful mods out there - these are well known examples.)

I'm 60. Didn't know if I would live to see another Sins but it's happening. Might as well swing for the fences.

Its actualy happening wtf
i always tought if this ended up happening, the devs would need to consult me regarding gameplay mecanics and balance.
Not only me tough, there were others who knew the game deeply and its problems when it came to the multiplayer.
I kinda regret not being be an influencer in the stream platforms otherwise my request to being part of the production of SOASE 2 could be a reality.
Just like in the Hellgate london comunity, i would have done SOASE 2 my self if needed to, lets hope you guys can bring the same felling with this sequel, nostalgic is the word.
It may be a shoot in the dark but if i can be anyhow involve in SOASE 2 that would be awesome.
I was wondering is the preorder going to available on steam was well?

Veteran player feedback is useful and there will be a lot of going over peoples experiences. However, no one group willl likely be given special treatment/weight over another, with the possibly exception of modders.

"Pro gamers" tend to be even more tunnel visioned on what needs changing in terms of balance or gameplay than core devs. A game needs to appeal to casual and pro PVE and PVPers alike.
