Have loaded groupy again after a hiatus of a year or so because clover fails on 4k displays.
The reasons I went back to clover after trying groupy then, and the reason I'm writing this now:
1. No single button on task bar to resume the previous active window.
This is the single biggest problem in productivity terms. If I'm in an explorer tab, and I have to pop briefly back to another open application, if want to then click on explorer to get back to where I was I can't. I have to search through the tabs that appear above the task bar. This completely defeats the purpose of tabs. Imagine if you're in chrome and you you pop off to read an email, then when you maximised chrome again you had to search your tabs for where you were? This might not seem such a big deal to people who are used to it, but once you've used clover and experienced how vastly quicker it is to work with, this change is a no-brainer.
Please can you pass this on as a feature request?
2. favorites menu below the tabs.
Not as important as #1, but also a no-brainer IMHO. Having favourites there means they are always in the same place, there is no scrolling needed to get to the quick access menu. Muscle memory takes over, and a single point and click takes you to your destination.
This paradigm was established in chrome, and there is a reason why it quickly caught up and overtook the other browsers: because for productivity these features are obvious.
I have tried every other tabbed explorer out there, and none of them get it right.
