@ anyone pitching a fit about losing their precious game save... (which appears to be about 90% of the posts.)
You have got to be kidding me. There is no excuse for being ignorant of what it means to be playing a game in Beta. It's not finished, it is going to be broken and it is not up exclusively for your entertainment. If you are playing this Beta (any Beta) just to play it and entertain yourself. Please do the rest of us a favor and keep your input to yourself, you are not part of this process.
If the build they put out was 'wrong' then they HAVE to pull it back else anyone doing any real testing is wasting their time. This is going to throw a wrench in the games that people are playing for 'fun.' Tough, I'm sorry but it is clear that you guys aren't cut out for the Beta environment.
Edit: Also...expecting your save games to work on a game you have auto-updating on Steam during Beta () Come on now, who's at fault there?
Not this again, please. We PAID for the game, for having fun, not for being beta-testers. If there was no beta for preordering, as far as i am concerned, there would be no money for StarDock now. I would indeed want to buy it, but without giving me a chance to play it right now, there would be no point in preordering it. That is cold, hard truth and i am sure, that i am not the only one, who preordered the game exclusively because of the access to beta.
Other thing, if they did not downgrade it back, lot of us would not even know, its broken (as you say). I have to admit though, i was very surprised to see it yesterday, as Yarlen originally implied its going to come late next week. Next thing i know, it happened late this week.
Still, IMHO, taking it down was a mistake. If something like this happens, unintended release, you do not solve it this way, unless it would totally break the game (which it clearly did not). And if we assume they planned for the next week release anyway, they could just ask the community for this week not to submit any reports, until the fix for this 0.75 version is released.
