Dev.exe

I am curious as to what exactly this device is capable of. I heard you can give it commands and such. I just want to know what commands you can give it and what they do, and how to activate them in-game. Plain and simple, no?

Ctrl+Shift+.(Period) to bring up the menu. It is your best friend, and just to list the ones I use most often...

Spawn ships - Change Galaxy -> Spawn Entity

Level up captial ships - Change Galaxy -> Change Entity

Give all planet upgrades - ""

Give all research - Change Galaxy -> Change Player

Show FPS - Overlays

Show entity facts (not called facts, but something like that. Must have for ability modding) - ""

edit: Wiki for a little bit more info. I might have to expand on it.

How do I spawn ships, get the research, and do other things? I can't seem to find them in the dev. Also, is there any way to run the dev along with sins at the same time?

End of JA_394's quote

I gave the path to them after the - in my post. Just hit the letter next to the option to bring up the next menu or activate the effect. Again, you bring the menu up after hitting Ctrl, Shift, and . and once.

Oh. Well, I just tried it, and I got to change galaxy by typing "spawn." Anything else useful in there I shuld know of? And by that, I mean useful tools that I can use to give myself ultimate control over my enemies?

you dont type spawn. You are presented with a list of options each with a corresponding letter. So it might be something like

Ctrl + Shift + .  -->  a  -->  c  -->  d  -->  b

cant remember exactly off hand but thats the idea

Ctrl + Shift + .  -->  a  -->  a

I think that will give unlimited money and all research done

Well you can directly control your enemies through the change player menu then change active player. Also in the change entity option there is a kill command, which will destroy any units you have select at the time (sans strikecraft).

Yeah, literally as I'm typing this, I'm exploring the dev. I didn't know it was THIS useful... I wish they had something like this for games of my generation...
