Yor Humilated

Okay... new game... let's see... giant, tight clusters, crippling... ah, I'll try random alignments, makes it more interesting... so, here we go.

*some twenty minutes later*

Okay, the Altarians are my neighbours... and there are the Drenging in the next cluster.. ah, together with the Arceans... and I see something green in the upper left... guess the Yor are in the upper right corner, then.

*sends a scout to a isolated system in the right bottom*

Oh my god! What's that? It's violet?! They got ONE isolated system?

*A message pops up*
"Hello, we are the Yor. We are programmed for love and..."
LOL :CONGRAT:
Oh my god, now THAT is cute! Well, no time for fun - United Planets ahead. So let's see... a, it's the prisoner thing. Naah, I don't want them. *click* What, they all voted for the Yor? Now how weird is that - a tiny isloated planet full of love-machines and a high-security-prison?

*some 30 minutes later*
Time to get those Lovebots... transports and BattleCruisers on the way... hm, they have a good defense at least.
*PopUp appears*
What?! A right, the prisoners, I nearly forgot. They broke free? Ah...
*Watches with some amazement how the revolting prisoners and the Yor ships blow up each other and leave the planet defensless*
Uhm... okay... I guess I just take it then.
LOL :CONGRAT: LOL

Oh thats adding insult to injury, putting the poor
Yor in an isolated corner, why never the drengin. :)

The Yor never do anything in my games. I have them 1 iq level above the rest and they still never do much.

Guess I'll raise them another and see what happens.

You're right - even without isolated systems, revolting prisoners and alike, the Yor are the weakest and most passive of all AIs. Which is a pitty, because I like the desgin and idea of this race. :(

In my last game, the Yor were the superpower. They also formed an alliance with the Drengin and wipped out all good and neutral AIs...including me.

Exact same thing happened in my last game (Painfull, large). Except the Yor and Drengin were neutral and everyone else was good. The Yor were were a juggernaught in that game, but they did benefit from an exceptional starting position.

For every one time I've seen the Yor a threat (read: maybe twice) I've seen 10 times where they are in a pathetic state and the first to vanish.

Is Yor evil by default?
For some reason I though Yor was aligned as good
by default (in the same way drengins are evil)
Their background music indicate they are supposed to be good, I think.

in the encyclopedia link above

Altarian probes seem to confirm that there are literally thousands of barren worlds near where they discovered the Yor. Worlds that may once have had life on them. They also seem to posses far greater technology than anyone else does.

The problem with written communication is that I cannot display very much of the actual pictures I saw of the Yor from the Arcean transcripts because the Arceans only allowed us to view them once but from what we saw, they were a frightening and terrible race of creatures. If it is true that they are bent on extermination, then we need to definitely be prepared to defend ourselves. Even the Drengin have rules of engagement, how can you argue with a machine that has decided that it wants nothing short than to sterilize every living creature on your planet?

I've played about 5-6 games, the Yor are always a minor power (sometimes even eliminated before I can get in contact with them).

Maybe some computers just don't like the Yor, right Christopher? :)

Brad did state that he has spent the least amount of time coding Yor's AI so its not surprising that they are the galactic doormat.
