[FIXED] CANNOT ACCESS MY OWN MOD THREAD! HELP NEEDED!!!!

Okay, here is the situation.  I log on into the Sins Forums and go into my mod thread to read up on some recent replies from people, and my computer struggles with the page and my internet explorer nearly slows down to the point of locking up, and my cpu usage goes through the roof while my ram is not being taxed.  I have to go into the system manager to close my browser, and at first thinking that it is my internet connection I power cycle my cable modem and reset my nic card.  I get back online, and try it again, and still have to ctrl-alt-delete out of internet explorer when I try to access my mod thread.  Weard thing is, it is not just when I try to access the last page of the thread (such as someone posted something that my computer doesn't like) but it happens no matter what page of the thread I try to load.  Also, when I hit stop on the internet explorer, the mod discription at the top of the thread appears, but it seems to refuse to load any of the replies.

I have opened many other threads to test this out further, and for some reason it is only happening to my mod thread.  I am wondering is anyone else experencing this?  Also, if I could get someone who is able to open the tread to quote them here that would be awesome!

If I cannot find an answer as to why the thread does not work I may open another and leave that thread to the depths of the forums, but would rather get this sorted out before going to that extreame.  Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide.

What version of IE are you using, and have you tried other browsers? This is probably a load issue since edit histories are now shown.

It's coming up as a blank, untitled page for me in FireFox.

Edit: Now it loads. But it takes a long time.

I am currently running internet explorer 7.  (7.0.6001.18000).  I would have expected it to be an issue before now though, seeing as I am nearly 600 replies and countless edits into it if it was due to the browser as I have not recently done any changes to my system, but I will go ahead and download another browser and test it out there.

Edit: Kit has provided me with the last posts in my thread, so I no longer need someone to find them.  Thanks a bunch kit, and hopefully I can get this sorted out before too long

Okay I have located the issue.

I went ahead and download Opera 9 because Kit already tested FireFox, and after a long load time the page did finally finish loading.  I timed how long it took me to load my mod thread in comparison to others.  7 deadly sins thread loaded in 3 seconds, while mine took a full 3 1/2 minutes to load.

When it finally loaded, I opened my view edits button, and there was an ungoddly amount of information in there.  I reloaded the page, and as soon as I could could I view the edits to see how long they would take to load it.  All of the time it took to load the tread was because of the amount of information contained within it!!!  To get an idea of how much information was contained within it I copied all the text and made a text document via Notepad and checked the size of the file.  2.27mb!!!  HOLY GOD!!!!!  8C It is just a text document, and does not even contain any of the pictures that are also included in the view edit!!!  Basically every time I load the thread, I have to reload all that information as well as all the pictures on top of that!!!  WOW, now that is shitty!! :annoyed:

In the hope that no one else had to load it, I went ahead and logged off, and tried to enter my thread as a guest.  Still a long load time.  If it was just me I probally would have just sucked it up and dealt with it, but I do not believe it is not right to put that on the shoulders of anyone else that tried to view that thread, expectally when they cannot even view the information they are forced to download.  Also, here is an uploaded copy of the text document I made.  Text Document Download.

So I come to a suggestion.  There needs to be a way to either delete the information contained within the view edit.  I cannot ask that everyone who enters my mod page to basically put up with it.  I am, to my knowledge, one of the fastest if not the fastest at putting out new content for my mod (new releases, patches, etc) as I am sure several of the people who follow my work will tell you that if you ask, and I consently edit the thread header in order to keep the public informed on current changes and such.  I do not believe that my hard work should come back to bite everyone in the ass.  I have no intention of changing my methods, because like stardock I put high value toward customer service, and I try to assist everyone who asks to the best of my ability.  I was just unaware that it came with a price.

In the end, the best method may very well be to create an identical thread and let that one die out or be deleted by the devs.   Kind of a shitty solution, but it may be required at this time.  I am sorry if any of my rant came off strong, but this whole things got me fustrated.  Its things like this that drive people to drink.

To be honest, I hate using internet explorer, any version. However, if a post is too long, firefox won't load instead it will just give me the border of this page, even then I wouldn't use IE, Google chrome ftw

Lol, I'm going to play around with Opera for a little bit now that I got it downloaded, to try to give it a chance.  I kinda like how it is set up, but we will see how far it takes me.

Anyhow, I went ahead and created another identical mod thread for the Mad Scientist Mod, and the old one is all ready to be deleted by the devs when they get around to it.  The new one runs all smooth and nice.

Anyhow, I still believe that an option for deleting information contained in the view edit button should be looked it, as I really don't want to be coming up with new thread every few months to dodge the increased load times.  Thanks everyone.
