About Pirate Star Jump, Worm Hole Jump

how to make they to use them so that player don't turtle ...

First of there were some map that has several star system in on galaxy,

but not all of them has the pirate base therefore what I want to say is

the pirate can't jump = no raid occur at all which is very bad when...

Player either AI turtle'ing behind that natural blockade from pirate and

that is not gonna be a good thing, questions here how to I make ...

them (Pirate) Jumpable?

 

2.  Can Pirate spawn on random planet?  not on PirateBase or it can only spawn at there?

 

3.  About map's template and GalaxyForge Template

Do I add in custom on at the very end of the GalaxyScenarioDef or it must add to according where it should be?

I mean PlanetItemType etc.

without have to explore them, I mean like making them visible every star or planet like Map reveal stuff.

 

5.  How to make AI Respond to permanent Phase Jump Disable?

They Just dont respond and foreverly waiting to be slaughter if they are disabled forever.

and that's a solution I found in this forum but I wanted AI to put up a fight not run here and there hiding that's just not gonna be AI since other games AI fight to death but this game they run like hell any ship you get near to any planet their ship are stationed no matter what size.  What should I do to make them put up fight instead of running every time

well you cant do anything with the AI besides tweek its building focus (weather it focuses on building buildings, researching, upgrading planets, building ships and defending) and retreat threshold. i dont think you can modify the visibility, but if you could i think it would be located inthe gameplay.constants file in your gameinfo folder. as for pirates spawning at random planets, no, you can not do this effectivly to my knowledge, i believe that is hardcoaded. and as star jump goes, you could try adding the jump research to the pirates PlayerPirate.entity file and see if thy will research it at all. other than that you can try modifying the pirate ships with an ability that allows galixy and workhole travel but that might or might not work.

I've personally tried  putting the wormhole artifact on the pirate's home world but it didn't work (or maybe they didn't explore the planet to find it).

Anyone else have ideas?

3.  About map's template and GalaxyForge Template

Depends on if you want to make an mod or not. If you put stuff into the galaxydef your maps only work if you load the mod, if you just want to make a special milita appearing on a specific planet for your map the better way is to add it in the galaxy file.

 

4.  How to make every planet visible?

Till now its not possible, i wrote a suggestion to add a parameter for that in the next expansion. I hope one of the devs read it.

 

About the pirates jumping behavior:

I read a while ago here in the forums that they do jump between stars, but not every time. but i dont know for sure if it really works that way.

On the other hand you can link planets of different starsystems with phaselanes. I saw some of the original maps have this feature. and pirates will use this definitely.

So the map revealing would appear in next expansion.  that's nice!

And if the campaign come out can it be the story mode the way starcraft has?

I mean "heroic" type mega ship? and which the race would follow the way storyline of starcraft has?

I mean make the campaign like a story which continues until the campaign ends

 

And would there be a meta-campaign of the whole galaxy like campaign in the RON (rise of nation) ?

Many people enjoy that meta-campaign.

 

And there should be story for every ship?  History.

I mean why they are appear, who use it first, the how they gotten the ship be made in the first place?

I mean story are nice in campaign.  I think a lot of people (not strategist) would love stories no matter what though.

what about putting a phase lane from the pirate base to the galaxy you are in? normal phase lane, not interstaller phase lane

The problem is the default map has no phase lane for pirate to use to jump between star system.
