I can't update from 1.05 to 1.12 using Impulse!

I can't update from 1.05.028 to 1.12.042 using Impulse.

I click "update", it says "preparing for download", then it begins downloading, but after about 2% progress, it stops, and says "file downloaded is larger than expected". But it's only like 220mb! That's not big.

And so, I dunno what to do.

Antivirus on? If so, try turning it off and see if that helps.

You might also consider uninstalling Sins and reinstalling 1.12 fresh from Impulse.

Additionally, ensure you have show prerelease versions unchecked-click the blue orb in the upper left corner to get there.

having the antivirus off didn't help and pre-release versions is unchecked. i'm not too excited about uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but i guess i'll try that next

D'oh.

I should've suggested that first.

Okay. I have gigs of extra harddrive space.

I tried reinstalling Sins. Nope.

I tried reseting Impulse and updating. It downloaded the Impulse update 100% and then said that there was an error.

Then I uninstalled Impulse, deleted the file, went to the Sins website, downloaded it again, reinstalled Impulse, updated it (seemed to work), and then tried to update Sins. Nope.

Try changing back to (or away from) BITS as the download method:

Blue orb / Preferences / Connection

toggle: "Use legacy download system (BITS)"

go to this website

www.impulsedriven.com

download impulse and install (don't worry it's harmless) follow instructions from there
