For Download Purchasers???

Is it possible to get a copy of the game on CD, or to get the files required for installation, and burn them on a CD? I'm sick of havibg to redownload the entire game + bonuses + multimedia, after the game crashes due to a faulty mod. The whole process, with a cable modem, takes over an hour. Any help with this? Thanks.

You can burn the downloaded file on a CD and use that to install the game. Make sure you don't forget to copy the serial number 2, otherwise ye might have a problem.

When I ordered the game a little while ago I did the option of having the game shipped w/ download option (because i'm impatient and wanted it RIGHT THEN :D)

If I remember right, all I did was download a zip or something to my hard drive and installed from there. I have no idea why you keep downloading the game. Though, I deleted anything I had to download when I recieved the CD not too long ago.

I just copied the downloaded zip file to a blank CD. I believe there's a function in Stardock that will do the archiving for you, but I just used ahead Nero.

When I bought the game it only gave me a download for the Strdock utility. I had to use the Stardock Utility to download and install the whole bloody game. :sniff!:

You can download and archive using SDC. Alternatively, you can fit the entire game onto a cd without zipping it, I think (you'll possibly have to get rid of your game saves). The

With SDC there's 2 ways to go about archiving:

1) Highlight the game and right click on it, select download and archive

2) Highlight the game and select file-Archive-selected app

Both these options place a zip file in the backup directory that SDC installed to. The first way will d/l the entire game again, but the second will just backup what you have on your harddrive. Actually, there's 2 options under the second method, one to just back up the app ONLY, and the other that will back up any extra files as well (like mods).

You can then burn these to a cd, and when you want to re-install place them back in the backup folder they were in, and under the menu file-archive-restore existing. Hopefully that'll work, it has many times with me (I like to move things about and re-install frequently), but there's been another thread recently by someone that this wasn't working for. SDC still has a few teething problems, unfortunately. However, it seems to be working fine for me recently.
