mod help

Hi ive been a pain in the ass on the forums for a few days but i could use some advice on how to make abilities.  im trying to make an autocast ability that will recharge shields completely if more that X amount of damage is dealt or ,if possible, to cast AFTER a duration period.  any help is welcome.  i also have some trouble with some other mods im making if anyone cares to help.

Don't know for Dinoff.

yoazzismine ( :NOTSURE: ), open them in notepad. If it's just a bunch of random letters, download the Forge Tools.

Hmmm i'd ask KillerKid. He knows stuff about abilities and all that...

yoazzismine once you download the forge tools there will be a folder called reference data get the game info from there. i have a post on this.

Have you tried utilizing the HasShieldDamage constraint? I -think- you can specify how much damage it has to have before the constraint will loosen.

i have. do you know if shields depleted might be a parameter. that would be the better one.

Shields depleted doesn't have a specific one, but you can use HasHullDamage if you aren't going to use any shield-bypassing abilities in your mod. Can't have hull damage without the shields being depleted :)

basically modify the shield regeneration files. They ought to be what you want...or at least close to it...

no because the idea was and is to have shields go down and restore fully after a delay time. if not a long as time interval between each regen in the ships files. or an ability that activate when shields go down. ive done all the basics and they dont give the right balence.

well there is an option in abilities to autocast after you have taken so much damage to the hull

Why what did you seit it to? Why don't just set it to like 10 hull points from the max so it will only give shields after it has already taken a tiny bit of damage

yeah but then i need a really long recharge time and it doesnt make for fun gameplay. trust me if you set it to hull damage its horrible. im actually restarting the mod with the original game files because ive changed too much of the text so now it doesnt work at all.

its ok i knew it would eventually happen its the 3rd time ive done it. but right now there are so many errors i cant get through them to play the game on the developer. and at the moment im taking a break from the game to play sid meier's pirates. i need a long break to get back into the mood.
