yup, this happens to evil players from memory.. though in the past it did very little to my enemies :(. You have to fight fundamentalists to get them back or if your lucky win them back with culture. Sorry but rusty on this event.

Although I saw no problem with the event in the past, thinking about it now it would be nice if the planets would revolt a turn before changing and give you a warning. Then then treat it like a troop invasion (the % of fundamentalists vs loyalists).

edit : to attack them... they should be a minor race. If your not at war with them, declare war and you should be able to attack them. Be careful though, from memory they can turn powerful if left alone for too long.. not sure if they go after evils (declaring war) but I think they do.
Again a bit rusty but I hope it helps.

Really?

Then I'll count my blessings.

The past few arrivals of the Fundementalist in some of my games were the turning points of some massive, interstellar war. :)

@GoblinCookie - agreed, if morale is too low for too long trigger the event (plus I wouldn't mind the population actually fighting for eachplanet instead of immediately taking them).

@TheRealChronus - yup, only once did they do anything in my games (4 planets of the Drengins 8 planets) and even then went straight back (1 was taken back the others culture flipped). That was a while ago, haven't had any in my later games though. Usually the event triggers against an enemy but nothing happens... occasionally one planet would break away.
