Sure, it is based on the Sneaky Diplomats. We have tried to improve it.

Two thumbs up! I used it in the game I just submitted. The research boost is very helpful.

I have played using it and found myself screaming through the tech tree.

I imagine people that use this would avoid war anyway so I think it would be fairer to the AI if you took a -75 Ship Attack (the one that really counts).

This way you would have to constantly monitor your relations to prevent the AI seeing you as easy meat.

The -75 on HPs and defense are pretend negatives.

Just my opinion. :SURPRISED:

It would be interesting to see the result if the other civs did use it.

I don't think so. With -75 defense and -75 HP, all your fighting ships are basically missile. But since I don't build any ships (only freighter and colony ships), I guess I can take the -75% attack penalty LOL . It won't really hit me that much LOL

I found it is quite easy to do so: just add speed +1 to the political party. It seems like a nice attribute for the AI.

Yeah I guess, although late in the game when the good civs are threatening I generally stockpile AMMs as a deterent.

For the way I play, I would have to quadruple my stockpile to maintain that edge (if -75 Ship Attack).

I cant bring myself to bribe those Torians just so they wont attack me :). The evils get all my trade goods as gifts though.

Late game I got hit with some incredibly strong escaped space monsters. They went through my lucky rangers like a knife through butter; I had to hit them with AMMs to kill them.

Well, don't forget that this party can't really sustain a war and have experienced ships: the negative bonus on defense and HP means pratically that the ships act like missile: if they don't destroy the target, they will by destroyed by the counter attack. Just check the HP and defense rating of your rangers compared to the stats (attack especially) of the space monsters.

Do you think a -50 to soldiering should be in order? People that dont fight rarely do it well if required.

Maybe even a hit to military production.

Just comments for thought, not trying to upset anyone.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. My point was that you while you certainly want to avoid war with this party, you can't always avoid combat. Stocking up on some AMMs is a good strategy.

You can't bribe your way out of combat with a space shark! >:(

Ah yes. Probably not. ;) Well, the only way that the party works is with those negative bonuses, becuase otherwise the Maso AI takes it, and you are even more in the hole.

And that fits clearly with the party since negative bonus on defense and hit points has no effect on missile :)
