"Pop Idol"

Well I just won my last game with culture. Whole map was red when I was finished. Yet it did not give me the "pop idol" achievement. On the plus side I am at 33% after 14 hours.

So far, it seems to me like culture never goes over 50 (in the statistics shown after a game), even if you cover the whole galaxy.

Well that would make this a bug then, I never looked at the stats at the end, I just went by what I saw with my eyes. Anyone official people want to weigh in on this?

Same here, and I did it with the advant so I made sure to research the increase to max culture, and relocate my home world for max coverage...

The only thing I can think of is:
1. Its a bug
2. It requires a galaxy above a certain size that is not specified.

This is really frustrating, I am at 74% done with achievements and I don't want to get stuck on this one... that being said... It would probably take a few more days for some of the more difficult achievements...

Heh, good to know i'm not the only one. :LOL:

I'm using v1.02 and tried it on 3 stars with 33 planets each and still only got 49%.

So, unless it's more than that it's a bug. (although i haven't tried the new patches yet...)

This is fixed in 1.03. I'm not sure if it was a bug or if it was a problem with the way culture was calculated (taking enemy culture rates into account whether your own culture was covering the whole map or not) but whatever it was, it's a lot easier to get that achievement after the patch.

I had it in one game with the Advent and I wasn't even trying for it.
