WB6 Causes Windows Explorer Error

Periodically, after instlling WB6, I will get a pop up error message indicasting that Microsoft Windows Explorer has caused an error and must shut down. Clicking OK causes the title bar and screen icons to temporarily vanish (but not app windows including IE7) and then reappear. I haven't paid attention to the time interval, but it seems to be like once an hour or so. System is XP Pro with all the latest MS updates.

Try right-clicking on the taskbar, see if it crashes too.
In my system explorer it always crashes when I do it.

Yes Neil, im using horizontal span. I was far from guessing it was its fault but I've already searched and that's the problem. Some software just don't like each other lol.

Quoting cuff cox: "...hopefuly this problem will be resolved in the next WB6 revision."

I can't stop using nview

Can that be your problem too Robert ?

Hey, we'll never know. I do suspect its a conflict w/ XP SP2 and WB6. I will say that when the crash occours and recovers, the ORDER of programs in the task bar is reversed. I always open Outlook first, then IE7, etc. After the crash recovery, the order is etc, IE7 THEN Outlook.

Wierd eh?

yep - and sometimes the 'crash' happens in a blink/strobe and I look down and things are reversed

wife's side gets it once in a while - without WB running at start
