I-League!!! How to combat your planets joining them?

It seems that every planet I try to colonize after that faction is formed wants to join up with them. I can have low taxes, around 72+ moral with my people, but nothing helps! I build buildings like news, embassy, but they still want to join.

Any suggestions on how to stop them from joining.

I guess I can't answer your question but I can add that I suffered from the same thing, but re-introduced these breakaway planets to my civ with combat transports.
I happened to about 4 or so planets...they would defect and I'd take 'em right back.

These is my understanding on how a planet should defect.

Moral has to be low,
get a warning that your planet is about to defect.

What really happens is moral is not a factor,
and I see no warning !!!

The AI on the I-League seems to be broken as well, no matter what you choose for your main opponents these guys seem to be running Genius level AI. They just advance far too fast for starting with a single planet.

I rarely have a planet defect to them, but I concentrate on tech and morale building improvements so I tend to have happy planets, and if I see an unhappy one I just pop into the build queue and build them something fun like a Stadium. :)

I notice the AI with minor races problem as well.

You want as easy game so set all the Major races as morons.

5 or 6 turns into the game some minor racs build a trade good !!!
You meet the minor race they have more tech that you do !!

Half the problem is minor races start with 5000BC but
how can you not agree that minor races should not be smarter than
major races.
