Production vs Manufacturing

What is the difference?

Building a Manufacturing Center says it gives +25% manufacturing, but the planet details shows +25% production. Just a terminology inconsistency?

Also there is clearly something odd (or a bug) going on with it, having +25% manufacturing on a planet generating 10 military production points is not giving me +2 manufacturing. Any ideas?

Yes, I'm almost 100% positive that "manufacturing" and "production" seem to be used interchangably, for better or for worse. Meaning, they are both the same thing.

Keep in mind that the bonus is +25% of the BASE production, i.e.:

base 100
+25% from item A
+25% from item B

correct: 25% + 25% = 50%, 100*(150%) = 150
incorrect: 100*(125%) = 125, then 125*(125%) ~ 156

You probably have another bonus that you've forgotten about (happens to me all the time). Make sure you check for both production and military production bonuses as well.
