Modding minor races

all that is in the RaceConfig.xml in the lower levels

I didn't see them in there. I see the minor races that start a game but not the ones that arrive mid game.

so I don't know, in my RaceConfig.xml all the minor races including the Vegans Dark Yor, Snathi, Andians, Paulos, Jessuins, Scottlingas, Carinoids, Akilians that's all of them

As you can see, the Vegans are not there, nor is the I-League.

I would like to know where they come from So I can alter them. I don't know where to look other than the said .xml file

As far as I can determine, they are part of the main .exe file. I have not been able to find them in any of the moddable files.

Well thats no good. I would love for my Zerg race to show up as travelers from a distant galaxy.

I agree. I would also like the minors to be able to colonize and grow normally once they are on the scene. Even a limit of 5 systems would be much preferrable to how they are set now.


I wonder if a dev could pop in and say something on the subject, just so we are not just left in the cold about this. Enough of us complain about the minor race issue, after all.

there is a way for you to change this go to galciv2 web site go into the databanks section choose fansite and at one of the sites i forget which theres a map editor with this you can change where you are how your planet looks and can ad lots of money play with all ten races and make minors more powerful you can allow them to invade even colonize but be warned diont use the galaxy editor ive never gotten it to work right but everything ealse works fine. How do you mod it so minor civs can colonize and invade planets?

You can't afaik. There may be a way to do it using scenarios, but anything advanced would involve improving the minor's AI code.

Can't you just give them three planets and set minors colonise to 1 in a scenario file?

At least it is rumored this works but as all my old Galciv scenarios don't work in DA I have no idea.
