How will the turn timing be handled in GC4?
I'm playing GC3 right now, turn 300 and the game is basically unplayable. The amount of time for each turn brakes the game, unfortunately.
Many times the "Long Turns" are caused by the number of opponents and map size being more than your computer can handle. Too many AI being the main offender. Does not help that AI is OCD and must move each and every ship each and every turn.
A cure for this would be to limit the number of ships a race can operate at any given turn or have all off map movement be instantaneous for AIs including combat.
The only slowdowns I have observed in GC4 is with on map movement especially slipstream travel.
Because of all the updates and patches, I do not believe I have gotten beyond turn 150 and only use 4 or 5 AI on largest map, so with my high end gaming rig I do not get "slowdowns" other than mentioned above.
