Max Planets

I was recreating the Sirius Sector from Freelancer when I got the following error message:

"Maximum Number of Galaxy planets reached!"

I look at the forums and it doesn't see, to have any answers on this message. Other posts say that there does not apear to be a limit on the number of planets you can have. I currently have 46 systems and 205 planets created (about half way done). Can any one help me get around this max planet issue.

If I had to guess, it would be you have too many stars. With only about four planets a star that is a very very low number. Bundle up planets in "systems" that cover the houses and sectors and you should be fine. You are also pushing the max number of playable planets. Merge some stars up and that should fix it.

Well, I fooled around and found the fix myself by accident. Instead of double clicking to add a planet I worked around the system by using the "Right Click" then "Add Planet". I was able to finish my project. There are 46 systems and 386 planet types.  At least 184 of those planets consist of "Jumpholes" or "Jumpgates" and not every system has "Planets" Some areas are deep space with only stations.  Thanks for your insight NovaCameron. I am playing it right now and I will let you know if I run into lag issues.
