I also do NOT like the entrenchment/diplomacy/entrenchment cobalt voice, and have a set of instructions to create a mod that changes the sound back to the vanilla sound.

1 in the expansion's latest mod folder (eg rebellion would be in the 'documents\my games\ironclad games\sins of a solar empire rebellion\mods') create a mod folder (example name 'fix sounds')

2 inside the folder you just created, create a folder named 'Sound'( Note the CASE of the folder name if the case is different it will NOT be found)

3 copy the file 'Frigate_TechLight_OnCreation.ogg' from your vanilla program sounds folder to the newly created 'Sound' folder in the mod folder

4 start the game (the expansion) then go into the options then into the mods, you should see the newly created MOD (the first folder name from step 1), select the mod, then enable the mod (it CAN be the last mod in the stack), then apply the mod.

play the game and note the colbalt creation voice is the one from vanilla.

congratulate yourself for creating a very small simple mod.
