Just a query/suggestion. I was playing an LAN game with my friend last night and some way through a rather large 8 way battle started going down, and as you can imagine, that put some strain both on my laptop (the host) and the Network Switch we were using to link together.
I'm studying Computer Science, and methods of lightening processor load are a key feature of my studies and my interest was particularly peaked when EVE Online and Supreme Commander 2 rolled out with Time Dilation.
For those unaware, Time Dilation manages processor load by literally slowing down the game, giving it the appearance of moving in slow motion rather than having a stuttering frame rate. This allows the machine to keep apace with the game, it obviously slows the game down for the user but in a smoother, more natural way and crucially the UI is unaffected. So lag is effectively eliminated (which is a problem at the moment, a click on a button may not register for several seconds) from the interface. Everything still runs smoothly, though a lot slower. Battles take longer, but the lack of lag makes the experience less frustrating.
Was just wondering then if its something the devs had considered at any point?
