First online Sins game in 2+ years

Well, I decided to make the plunge back into Sins Online after after trying to learn it back in 2008 and 2009. First game was a loss but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was unprepared for how fasted paced it was but loved the dynamics of the sins RTS complexity and yet simplicity. I don't think anyone would remember me but I am glad to be back and am willing to relearn this one of kind RTS again and thanks for putting up with a noob vet (I got pretty good but then moved on to other games. Plus the faster speed was too much for me back then.)

I hate the faster speed.  I wear bifocals and have deficient color vision--it's tough for me to rapid scan back and forth on the small colored objects.

Lots of players and even more will come on from Steam I think when Rebellion comes out.

5v5 games are usually "all settings fast' and that's where you're most likely to run into the pro smurfs.  Set up a 2-3 player game and someone will eventually come along to play.  Wrath will play if he's about usually and is a good start opponent.

Hi EmpReb,

I was on the team playing against you - was a good game. And I also played vanilla and Entrenchment for a while before leaving to play other games (DoW II for my RTS needs mainly) and am recently back again to get into Sins before Rebellion hits. I don't mind the faster speeds as they still aren't all that taxing compared to other RTS. DoW II is quite micro intense so it was good training. I'm actually enjoying Sins as a slightly more relaxed pace, lol. Without speed set to Faster, games would be prohibitively long for MP sessions for most people so I think it was a good addition in order to attract more playing online.

Hi EmpReb, one thing that I have found to help desperate beginners is to poop your pants before the game starts, and then sit down and let the poop stay in your pants during the duration of the game.  This gives you a nice semi-liquid swivel chair to allow you to scan the battlefield easier and navigate through the tough onslaught of siege frigates and colony frigates you will likely face.

Also, as far as ingame strategy goes, I would play Vasari and spam Antorak Marauders all game, they are very overpowered.  If you mix in some ravastra skirmishers and a steady dose of matter extractors, you should win 138.28% of all games you play on ICO.

I have to say I lol'ed at stars post...

anyways good to know your kryptonite sinperium, i'll exploit it later by attacking your empire with numerous small fleets and force you to maximize your scanning weakness.

Then jump in with a bunch of LRF and take it out. Happens every game.
