So as we all know from the Lore the Vasari are on the run and have been for years it takes a generation for them to catch up to the Vasari. Now with the new lore coming out we know that the Vasari are running out of time and the enemy will arrive soon. Also with the Schism in race factions the Rebel Vasari they don't want to unite and hold they want to unite and run with the rest of the races.
Instead of speculating on what the race/entity is doesn't this sound like its an opener for the Campaign maybe not in the Rebellion expansion. But after it, if this race is supposed to be so powerful wouldn't releasing something of that volume make it overpowered? Now I know some people are against a campaign and I won't hold that against them but I would love to see advancement in lore and to finally face the Vasari's enemy!
As a small P.S: is their anything else we know about their enemy other than what is stated in the lore?

Some of us are in favor of a campaign but Ironclad feels they want to improve the game first before they do a campaign, if ever. And the lore is all we know about the enemy. Though that doesn't stop others from speculating.
Whatever enemy it is would most likely be way too overpowered (or too underwhelming if in some sort of campaign form, if AI isn't significantly improved).
It might be interesting to see what the "enemy" would be like in a game, but I don't think it would have much positive to add to the meat of the game. I hope that Ironclad doesn't consider putting them ingame any time soon.
It was just a thought I had because I mean.. They destroyed a near whole of the Dark Fleet. It makes me wonder how would the Advent fair against them(Considering that TEC's technology is considered inferior unless they pull a Stargate Universe Human vs Replicator event)
Yeah, the introduction of whatever enemy it is would seriously imbalance things. Bad idea all around unless the AI can be improved.
Uh, TEC tech inferior to Advent? Give me any level 10 TEC cap and It'll destroy a level 10 Advent cap. I've actually ran tests like that. My tests, with the AI controlling the ships were somewhat like this:
Advent<TEC TEC<Vasari Vasari> Advent
And all techs were researched.
If you had a point blank fight with abilities, I'm pretty sure the Radiance, Kortul and Evacutor can take out any other capitalship one on one.
Direct comparisons of level 10 capital ships are irrelevant. The only time you'll ever see two capital ships duking it out without any backup is level 1-3 (which carrier caps win, hands down). A level 10 requires 7800 XP to come into existance, the equivalent of 78 dead heavy cruisers. Such capital ships will only exist in conjunction with huge fleets, which is where TEC capital ships are at their weakest. The TEC capital ships lack wide-scale support abilities that benefit larger fleets, which makes them poor fleet leaders in these massive late-game battles.
I think he took this post to seriously, Lorewise the Vasari and Advent are far ahead in tech then the TEC.
*Facepalm*
*Double facepalm*
*Triple facepalm*
I'm not talking about lore-wise. I'm talkng about gameplay-wise.
Then why did the TEC Caps in my tests win if they're so technologically inferior? Keep in mind I'm talking about nothing but the level 10 caps.
And yes, the carriers won, big time. But generally speaking, Vasari>TEC TEC>Advent Advent<Vasari.
Run the tests yourselves. Unless you have modded game files, you'll get the same outcome.
No I AM talking lorewise I am the OP after all...
Well I am NOT talking lore-wise because I tested IN-GAME. Game-wise, TEC beats Advent. Lore-wise? I really don't care. I just like to read it.
NOTE TO SELF: Do not argue with those who can not understand what you say...
Now can we stop this debacle? I'm tired of arguing.
This situation is extraordinarily unrealistic. In a standard fleet-to-fleet battle, Vasari will almost certainly come out on top over either Advent or TEC if they can use their technology - and Advent also dominate TEC with late-game technology.
You're the one who came into this thread and started arguing with the OP about how TEC actually had the better technology despite the fact that (1) they don't in a real battle and (2) this thread's topic relates to Sins lore, not capital ship comparisons.
Their enemy is their women, not once in the game had we heard from a female of their species, I guess they got tired of their men running around playing war all the time!
Pretty much this you have no idea what you are doing Canon dictates that Advent have better technology. And outclass the TEC by alot. Never once in my thread did I say that game balance said TEC>Advent not once. As a matter of fact this is exactly what I posted.
"It was just a thought I had because I mean.. They destroyed a near whole of the Dark Fleet. It makes me wonder how would the Advent fair against them(Considering that TEC's technology is considered inferior unless they pull a Stargate Universe Human vs Replicator event)"
Clearly I was refering to the lore please concede from this arguement before you make a fool of yourself:/
*Pouts childishly*
I will if you learn to type properly.
Regardless...
Well, you win this round...
SHEEA-KAZING!
*Vanishes in a puff of smoke*
I wonder if they'll tie the Precursors into this like they did in the Galactic Civs series...
Dread Lords, anyone? I like seafood and their ships look like shrimp and squid!
Actually, the Vasari are running away from a confederation of the Dread Lords, Reapers, Shadows, Vorlons, Replicators, Ori, Neo, Mike Tyson, Hulk Hogan, Charlie's Angels, and HAL 9000...and in the year 2012 they will combine forces to fight off Vladimir Putin for the Russian presidential election...
Personally, my money's on Putin, but who knows...
Ooh! Ooh! Don't forget the Yuzhon Vong!
Yep, I think that you're right. At least, history seems to have borne out your theory thus far...
It's V'Ger.
Now why didn't I think about him? Too bad they don't have Kirk...
KerrdogJ, you have secretly discovered the ancient enemy chasing the Vasari. William Shatner's greatest hits left Earth, corrupted space-time creating a wormhole and the signal blasted through Vasari space eons ago sending them running in terror from this terrible psychological weapon.
You could be onto something there...
I think y'all may be onto something there...
(What else is there to say?)
Go see the Darkness
I knew of these guys before they were popular. If I were the Vasari, I'd run too.
